I feel you! This song gets me everytime. Got word that my former teacher has beaten cancer. He'd suffered for quite awhile. Praise God! I began listening to this and it triggered some thing in my spirit! It messed me up.

Retired music teacher here: the human singing voice grows richer as time goes on...for example, listen to Aretha Franklin's early gospel recordings at age 14----then listen to her later gospel recordings and note the expansive deeper range of her voice....or just choose any singer and listen to early recordings and compare to later recordings...

Evolution. Things change. All you can do is appreciate this and pass it on. Some people like new gospel and some like old.
