We should thank God that He allowed Ms. Walker to be in our modst for 81 years. I too will miss her beautiful music but I know that she has left us something to remember her and one day we will meet again.
Joe Ligon still got it. You can tell that the musicians aren't used to old school. They're trying to play what's on the score sheet and Joe is singing what's in his heart. These musicians have to learn to follow the lead. Joe is not type be rushed. This is his anthem. He's been doing this song for over thirty years. He's earned the right to sing it the way HE wants. You know this makes me madd as ever. Today's musicians are to self centered. They think that traditional gospel is simple and just a bunch of basic turns, scales, and grooves. WELL IT IS NOT!!! It is about a shared feeling of koinania, when soloist, musicians, background singers, and the congregation are one. . He wants to take his time, and I think the musicians should discern that. Well, seasoned musicians wouldnt dare leave a singer out there like that!

All people who get up in church and sing, be sure to sing not editorialize. This is not to beat any one up. However, when Bro. Joe got up to sing he talked then sang. That can trip everyone up, especially at a funeral or memorial!!! Eulogists have also broken down or almost broke down in these situations. So respect singers and musicians.

A agree. But the musicians were right! Joe hadn't been well. He came in wrong. He was still recovering from illnesses. Not any ones fault. The musicians did well to follow. Inexperienced musicians would not have been able to help. Joe Ligon is the greatest and I continue to pray for him and his family.

those of you who are critical of the musicians, you are totally wrong, as a musician if we did not rehearse a song a particular way besides the way we know it, it is sometimes hard to predict where a lead singer is going, and if that lead singer go another route we have the task of catching up with that singer, unless your a musician and you have the skills, please keep your ignorant sarcastic remarks to your self's
Brother Joe Was one of the greatest men who can sing! He now leads the heavenly choir. with his back ground singers are : pop winians, albertina walker, Whitney houston, pop staple and pop watkins.and many more. can't wait to hear there voices again.

I love Joe and I think he is one of the most special voices to ever sing gospel but he did NOT do a good job this time. He started the song too high!!..and tried to start out on 10 and left the tempo that HE probably set!!..and obviously did not rehearse with the keyboard player....all of these are things that singers egos make them do...take note singers...these things are what not to do
