We rode with Alberto Contador to find out how he's feeling after his awful Tour de France crash and what's behind his shock decision to ride the Vuelta a España.
Alberto was in a relaxed mood as he went for a spin with his Tinkoff-Saxo team. He discussed how he feels about the signings of Peter Sagan and Ivan Basso for 2015, his cycling heroes and hopes for the race.

Here it is an example of a champ close to his cycling people. The part I like most was when he said he's hero was Marco Pantani...absolutely surprised by that, when the easiest thing would have been to say that was Miguel Indurain, the cycling hero for a whole generation of Spanish cycling fans...here is a recognition of other great but Italian superhero... Great cyclist, great contender, why not...great guy!!!!

Contador is one of my favorite pro riders and it was a treat to hear him give an English interview. I've read in many places that he is quite approachable and kind hearted. This interview was helpful to give a glimpse into the person.

Fantastic interview and the setting was great. Nothing wrong with a little Q&A over tea or coffee, but to see a pro rider like Contador back out and getting stronger after his crash really made the interview special. Keep up the good work gents!

Really great, Matt. Good work! The more I understand pro cycling, the more I see how strong the cyclist is. The endurance, the injuries, the insolent fans, the weather not good for cycling, riding so intensely so fast and so close to one another. Behind the scenes (my favorite), ...can't get enough : ) I'm making my own GCN T-shirt because I can't wait for contests.

Contador is one of my fave riders of all time, watching his season very closely so far this year Valverde has been getting the best of him on the climbs by small margins ... then the trouble is Valverde has the kick to out sprint Contador. I wish Bertie well this years TDF ...
