Traditional rhythms and Argentine folklore characterize the compositions of Argentine artist Alberto Evaristo Ginastera.
Rhythmic conciseness and a clear structure (motivic, melodic and harmonic): the suite from "Estancia" is one of the most performed works of the composer born in Buenos Aires in 1916. In 1941, cultural manager and dance lover Lincoln Kirstein commissions the work from him. It was premiered in 1942 - but unfortunately Kirstein's dance company "American Ballet Caravan," for which Ginastera had composed, had already disbanded.
