Alberto Malesani angry post-match press conference when he managed Panathinaikos in the 2005/2006 season. With English subtitles. Translation done by me. Follow me on twitter @FRANCESCalciO
much more complex for the history of our club, this man spoke some truth, after Vardinogianis left, PAO went to hell, they ate this historic team from the inside
@@prometheus7161 Sorry man, it was just a joke post , not serious at all. I have no knowledge of any of it , just shit posting. Here's the Vid so you can have a laugh at how the Great Gattuso handles the Press - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sG1IH1vCvko.html
Best press conference ever: 1. Cazzo. Slap the desk.(Malesani) 2. 100% Malakia(Gattuso) 3. Ich habe fertig(Trapattoni) Italians are good at press conferences. :-)
@@pippo4656 Panathinaikos has not seen a trophy for more than 10 years, battled to avoid relegation, got banned from european cups for financial problems and even now tries to get established to first 4, but seems in vein. The disaster brought by the after-vardinogiannis era will remain for long as it seems
I always loved hearing this without knowing completely what he said.......but now with the subtitles, I love it even more. He's got some great points there.
Now I know why italians were looking shocked at us when i was saying cazzo talking to my bro in restaurant because in georgian it means just like "man or even dude" xDD
@@alxdiablo xDDDD. By the way, like 8% of georgian vocabulary has greek etiology. We use same words like eklesia, paraskevi, portokali, exi (ekvsi in ours) and etc. We even call your country Saberdzneti, which means "land of wise", but when I visited Greece called it Zarmatsineti - "land of laziness"😅
I think I know who did this video. If this is Francesco from the Italy Offside blog, I'm glad to see that you finally got around to translating this. I've been watching this video for years, and it's absolutely terrific. Grande Francesco!
Malesani's performance as a coach for Panathinaikos was quite mediocre indeed . But in his speech he quite accurately understood the situation of Panathinaikos of this period and the future. Many Panathinaikos' fans were protesting against the owner mr. Vardinogiannis for not being able to win the championship. After many other events / protests Vardinogiannis's left, the club won a very shady double in 2010 (PAOK had many rightful complaints about this as in many cases the new owners had influenced the referees- this is another story) , but indeed now , in 2019 Panathinaikos in the after Vardinogiannis era is a shadow of itself, with huge debts and big decline in the club performance in Europe ( transfer ban, ban from playing in Europe, even the law changed in favour of Panathinaikos in 2018 because since it did not take licence to play in the next year it should have been delegated to second league like Iraklis had this fate one year ago, but the law changed in favour of Panathinaikos and instead of delegating he had a -6 points and transfer ban fine) .
Managing relations with the fans & the press is also part of the owner's job. Fans and journalists can't play games against competent owners. Of course, you can't keep them in line if you fail at everything else.
@@s1tL the problem is Greek football was always an shop of money laundering. Not for the game. I can recall late 90s bett fixings . Savvidis 2016 entering game with a gun. Etc .......
@@thebeatnumber I bet if you are used to higher percentages, then it becomes mediocre. If Man City now lost every third game, it can be seen as a mediocre season. Same with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, etc. Teams that usually dominates leagues will feel that way.
@@TottoHolm Olympiakos was by far the strongest team in the Greek Super League back then. Getting a 60% win rate with such an opponent wouldn't be easy for Panathanaikos.
Malezani was good coach , but was issues and a lot 'underground' work on Panathinaikos. The problem was Vgenopoulos, who wanted Panathinaikos, then he pay a lot fans to start blame Vardinogiannis . Panathinaikos fail because of a part of its fans. Thier support to Vgenopoulos was disaster for the team . After 10 years of the new 'president' they saw the terrible truth: Now team has a large debt (with Vardinogiannis never had a single cent) poor trasnfers, etc.
I've always wondered what happened to that poor girl who had to translate this. Maybe she went back to teaching italian to kids. Less money, but much safer environment, fewer occupational hazzards. Or dropped it all and became a nun.
"Cazzo" means "dick"; "vaffanculo" is the condensed form of "va' a fare in culo", which literally means "go to get stuffed in your ass". "Cazzo" is used in the same way of "fuck" or "shit". "Vaffanculo" is more like "fuck you".
