@@OfficialSnowhiteif you don’t feel comfortable replying you don’t have to - but does it affect your vision? I can voluntarily shake my eyeball and it affects my vision. Just a question :)
My daughter has albinism too. This is called nystagmus for people who don’t know, read up on it, it’s an involuntary eye movement caused by lack of melanin in the eyes
You know, I heard some people with albinism can learn to live with their visual handicap reasonably well.. I hope it's not so bad for your.. But it's the nystagmus that I think would bother me most if I had it myself. Sometimes i have a twitch in an eyelid and I already find it so annoying. Do you mind me asking you if your eyes feel tired at the end of the day?
Oh darn.. I just heard you say on tiktok you've got 20/200 vision? I'm so sorry for you.. That's terrible.. I met a girl with albinism a couple years ago. She was working at the supermarket and it seemed she was hardly visually impaired at all. But her hair, eyelashes and eyebrows made it pretty obvious she had albinism. I was ignorant then. I didn't even know it (almost) always comes with reduced eyesight. I just learned that it's because of missing pigment in the retina so that light "bounces around" inside the eye, confusing the senses I guess.. And the iris can be translucent as well as far as I understand? I was thinking if it could help to wear colour lenses that prevent the light from going through the iris, so that you at least don't have so much light exposure I guess.. I heard there is a medicine treatment being developed (though that was a 9 year old video) by testing on mice, which gives the mice darker hair. As far as I understand they are hoping that it can help to add pigment to the retina so that your vision can improve. I guess your hair would become darker though. I think it would be too bad if your hair becomes darker, but I guess it's a small price to pay if it can improve your eyesight.. And maybe improving your retina can stimulate the optic nerve to improve? That might reduce the nystagmus, right? Here is a link where I heard about it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uyaj_NnfF3o.html
@@coderebel3568 people with albinism aren’t THAT blind and I hate when people think it that way. And the nystagmus we don’t notice at all unless we look directly into a mirror and we also HATE special treatment btw Edit: we’ll at least I do 🧝🏻♀️
@@mstudios33 no reason to get angry. some people don’t know how everything in the world works. the original comment was basically a compliment to you, they were basically saying that you are pretty. they may not know the other effects that albinism has on people.
@@mstudios33not accusing you of anything, but if your vision is that bad that you need to use a blind cane, how is your channel all about art? art is a skill that relies solely on the hands and *sight.*
@@roul4842 no, her eyes are just pale blue from the lack of melanin they’re actually exactly like mine bc I have albinism so shut up. If they were colorless I wouldn’t have ANY melanin and my eyes would be red. Albinos with red eyes don’t actually have an eye color, it’s just their blood vessels in the back of their eyes reflecting.
