Frizzle Sizzle is a funky bulb succulent that is always turning heads. In this video I discuss proper light, watering, fertilizing, and repotting of these curly wonders.
Can we grow this plant in the tropics? We don't have winter and autumn, just wet and dry season, though it can rain anytime throughout the year. When is the plant supposed to go dormant then? Also, can it survive under bright indirect light? Thank you in advance.
I just got one of these and it is starting to pop up with leaves but it isn't even fall! Is this normal? I was expecting late fall winter. So, I came on to see a care video and came across this one.
Hi Tanner my plant finished blooming I cut it all the way back it’s about 1inch above the top of the bulb. I repotted it to separate it from my other succulents so it wouldn’t get water, and so it goes dormant for the rest of its growing cycle. My questions are: Do I water it to start it’s growing cycle again later in the year or will it just growing on it’s own before I water it? If I do water it when would the best time to start the growing cycle again? Do to know how long it takes a bulb to split? I was hoping to get another plant out of this one. Thank you, Terri
I would agree excessive water (root rot) is the killer of most succulents. I only water when the soil is 100% dry and then I still wait another 4-5 days just to be sure before watering. I also purchased grow lights and lastly I fertilize with plant food. In your case repot in fresh soil do not water for at least a week (easy to say hard to do). When you do water start with a plant fertilizer and after that when to water make sure it’s 100% dry and still wait an extra few days.
