Thanks for your video of Praia da Ouro and the strip,we have enjoyed 25 fabulous holidays there, but I haven't been back since 2016 after my wife passed away.We first went there in 1988 and hopefully I'll make it back again. You've cheered me up this morning watching the video.God bless.💚
Me and the missis have had some amazing nights on the strip. The Irish bar at the end of the video used to be Lineker's and the mexican place was Cafe del mar. Mambo's is a great bar. On one trip we were being picked up from the hotel for flight home at 7-30 am, we were still in Albertus at 4-30, Gilly the then owner just wouldn't let us go. We made the flight but I was still legless when we arrived back at East Midlands. Some great memories of the place. Thanks for the vlog.
At the end of the strip where you finished the vlog on the left hand side about 100 mtrs is the best Indian restaurant in albufera called the " clay oven," absolutely gorgeous . And the Chinese at the start of your walk "the golden garden " is the best I've been to anywhere great eating places in albufera ..
Thank you so much for all your videos been watching them over and over. Going to Algarve in the coming weeks your videos have been very informative and helpful . Cheers. 🍺
Thanks for sharing Kevin.. Def a trip down memory lane for me.. The cottage is lovely for food.. At the end of your video to your left is a great little pastry shop very cheap for coffee like 60 cents & little further down Clay Oven Indian.. So nice 🙂
Loving the Albufeira vlogs. There is a street a (fair) bit further along from the strip called Rua de Dunfermline so I always feel at home in Albufeira! 😆
To be honest I visited the strip last night I'm in Portugal old town on holiday and haven't been to the strip for 10 years . I was shocked to find drunk teenagers everywhere shouting with bottles of beer on there hand. Not the strip I once new with people from all over the world visiting. We left after 15 minutes back to the old town classy and we'll behaved multi cultured folk of all ages. The strip was a let down.
We were there during the euros final. We went to jinkys to watch it. Little celtic bar, to stay away from the english and the inevitable trouble after it
Been there many times. That area is primarily for the young people. If you want a more relaxed time, go to the Old town (Fisherman's Beach). You can catch a little train by the top of that road that shuttles you between the old Strip & the New strip for a Fiver. Fantastic video by the way.
Stayed in hotel Aldeia last summer, it wasn't bad, small old fashioned room. Out the back a beautiful big pool and also crazy golf! Breakfast buffet included was good as well. I really want to try Golden garden Chinese heard many recommendations.
Hi Kevin, brilliant memories for us there. The Scots Rock Cafe was the maddest Rangers bar in Portugal, we went for 17 years on the trot before changing to Tenerife.
I last went to Portugal in 2002 and am wondering how it has changed since then. I also went to Tenerife in 2014. Did you start going to Tenerife instead of Portugal since you thought it was better (obviously the winter weather is better in Tenerife) ? If so, how is Tenerife better than Albuferia ?
Love your videos this brings back memories for me over the years but it has changed some restaurants and shops are different,I have been there 3 times, hope to go back next year, keep up the good videos, Irish subscriber
Great to see your videos as it shows the Resorts as they are and not as we imagine them to be! Had no idea Albufeira was such a party place!! Ok for the youngsters and those that love to party but we prefer a quieter sort of resort so the old town probably more suited to us.
Went to Albufeira as a 16 year old in 1988......my God this has changed....! All I recall is the name of the Hotel bar we stayed in (The Blue Bar), Sgt. Peppers, and a twenty minute walk to KISS nightclub....! 😆🤷🏼♂️
Hi Kevin, had a few good nights on the strip with a golfing society, and, driving there from London to play golf and watch the euros in the early 2000's. That's all I dare tell you...😆
Due in Portugal in a couple of weeks time but staying in the old town this time . The strip has deffo gone up in price since we were there last in 2020 , Those two bars at the end of the strip it was £2.00 a pint until 6.00pm just over a year ago . And yes it gets just a little bit louder after 11.00 pm ! Had a ride on those trike things most nights into the old town , it was ten euros to the old town from the start of the strip in the new town near the traffic island I would imagine its more now though . Great fun
Hi Kevin, i really like your videos very good content. I remember staying in Portugal in the mid eighties in a resort called Armacao de Pera, not that far from Albufeira. I remember going to a cabaret nightclub called Michaels, beside Hotel Montechoro which was in a big circus style tent. The area then was very desolate with little there except for desert style wasteland, completely changed now, lol. I've been told that the venue is no longer there and in it's place is an Irish bar.
Un real looks completely different was quiet place before Canadians would go for winter few months out 30 below freezing weather it’s jumping to get to beach it was giant hill cardiac hill bad did once enough water cold april nice day cool night
We were there when you were 🤣 very pricey compared to Tenerife. We stayed in Tenerife for a month and nearly spent the same amount of money in 10 days than what we did in one month in Tenerife
Thanks for the vid. Never been before usually go Magaluf and now this is swaying me. Is the strip close to the beach? How far is the airport transfer. Thanks
the strip in albufeira is quite calm and laid back compared to magaluf, benidorm, kavos etc although avoid the very top end because that's where the 'special girls' are run..!
Not specifically related but what are 4 good locations for 20 year old lads to go party(nightclubs bars and strips) and have stuff to do during the day, cheers
I’m going here in June with 4 other mates. Will the strip/nightlife still be busy at that time as I’m assuming July is peak season? Any info would be helpful.
@@ScotsmaninTenerife Because im going In june, do you think it will be as busy as July time? Im going June 15 - 21. I’m not overly fussed providing there’s still a lot of people.
Always go to Benidorm but looking for somewhere else to go due to hostility of Spanish towards British tourists. Are the people better as I've heard? Are there many tribute acts? Thanks.
Cheap tacky holiday dreadful. Can’t put it into words it’s like Yarmouth flashing lights all cheap food and booze cheap shops, that’s not a holiday it’s a cheap seaside resort in the sun. What a shame
