Developed by HAL and puclished by Square, Alcahest is an overhead action RPG which never saw the light of day outside of Japan. The game is structured similar to the Zelda series and features 8 levels each with a boss at the end. Upon defeating certain bosses the player will gain new powers to aid them in their journey. You'll also come across various companions that will help the player fight back the hordes of monsters.
As you would expect from HAL and Square, Alcahest is an excellent game. Fans of action RPGs need to add this one to their collection!
