Sophie Ellis Bextor who should know better, or has been presented with this stolen tune, by someone who has fooled Sophie - because she would have been too young to remember the original!

that could be true, but i find it hard to believe that in todays age that sophie ( or at least her management team ) wouldn't of researched and looked at whoever holds the license and whatever

@@nygelmiller5293 The version that Sophie has recorded was a big dance tune around 2000 by a group called Alcazar- it was also a chart hit in the UK. Sophie has covered that version which sampled the original Sheila B Devotion hit.

And I never heard their version -it wasn't on most radio stations - so you must have really been up on the club scene, I Imagine! It still wasn't right, though to record a record that ALCAZAR STOLE. Like buying goods off someone who sells things after shoplifting. Amazingly, the QUEEN OF THE THIEVES award, ultimately has to go to Agnetha Faltskog, the Abba singer, for her album of 2 years ago, simply called her initial, "A". EVERY track is made up of 2 or 3 snatches of other people's songs, from the 60's (including The Beach Boys). The idea is that the songs won't be known to people who are too young to have heard of them - including GARY BARLOW, who was proud to have duetted with her! If only he knew! This album was from the singer who recorded such a lovely and TIMELESS album, after ABBA, called WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND ME. How the capable have talent, yet no SHAME.

​@@nygelmiller5293 you do realize that songs can be licensed for use, right? Madonna did the same thing with Hung Up using Gimme Gimme from ABBA. You pay some money to the record label who owns the song and you are free to use it for your own work. You can argue if Alcazar was lazy for almost fully reusing Sheila's tune, but they made an international number 1 hit with it. That was in 2001, and Sophie did this tribute to the Alcazar version to promote her new album with fan-favourite oldies. I am in no way an expert on any of this, but before you accuse someone in front of the whole internet, at least please look it up first. Usually there is more to these things than it seems on the top.
