Saw Alcest a couple of days ago in Copenhagen. They were supporting Opeth. It was both dark and beautiful!

Here's hoping the next album will be darker than shelter. Neige screams way too good not to have at least a couple tracks per album with them. Either way, unbelievable

Cant say I'm a massive fan of the other 'shoegaze' bands I've encountered, but this is insanely good. I actually got here looking for other French bands like Year of No Light (Ausserwelt still does it for me big time). I guess it just goes to show that putting musicians into neat little boxes with labels was never a good idea - you know they've given up when they throw a band into the 'prog' box ;)
