TerenceTriple81 the first infantry version is more polished and the rhymes are little better structured. But for a lot of us we prefer this version, because we had it on vinyl and for most of us it was the first time we realized alchemist was a white dude. If you listen to the original vocals there’s an unpolished and rugged charm to it that I think isn’t there on there remixed version that was made 2 years later on 1st Infantry. This original’s lyrics were slightly different and had slightly more emotion.
word, thanks for clearing that up, so, this is the Fat Beats version (single) playing, right? i like this one better because the bassline makes the track flow better, smoothes it out
something tells me i gotta map this out/been thinkin of a new direction that introspection talked about/to stay focused on Gods plan n ignore folks who dont watch their mouth/give em space to speak/say what they feel or mean what they think/i remember back when i when id c somebody dissin mcs/it was like world war 3/guess im gettin older/im more at ease/just let folks b/as i do me/truly/im still unruly/but beefin with strangers is a fools beef/finally learnin discipline/only c what im envisionin
Damn this brings back mad memories for me. Fucked up ones. I was upstate doing 10 years at 27 years old. Always fucked with this song but when they gave us MP3 I download this instrument made a fire joint and performed it for all my niggas. Some never coming home. 😢. Check my music fam
There are. The lyrics are slightly different too. The vinyl on FatBeats is the original. The version on first Infantry is a little more chopped up and has some lyrics tweaked.
