I have an alexandrite ring my mom gave me when I was expecting my first child. It’s lovely! Its dominant color is royal purple but depending on conditions has changed to green, to gray to aquamarine. Very interesting gem!
Good to see you back. I just ordered One Last Dance Before I Die. I’m really looking forward to reading it. Sitting down with a cup of tea or coffee and getting lost in your books is one of life’s great pleasures. It’s fortunate for those of us who love your work that you’re such a prolific author. I’m looking forward to what’s coming. Best wishes for a year of good health, love and friendship, and creativity.
Many thanks! I really appreciate the comment - and hope the read was as good as the cup of tea or coffee! Sorry to take so long to respond - ill health and deadlines!
Good to have you back Mike, nice interesting video, the puppy is not so much a puppy now and the poor ridgeback is having a tough time, sorry to see your eyes are still an issue, I’ll write soon, take care Mike
Very delighted too have you back on the tube, I have missed you writerly wittterings. Interesting inks. I like the blue Rose and the Unicorn. I too am having a bit of eye issues. Found out in October of 2023 that I have Ocular Melanoma in my left eye. I have had treatment for it and now I have about 50% of my eye sight in that eye, that is quite irritating, but I will soldier on, what else can we do?
Ach, I know the feeling. I'm not that bad (yet), but it's the age-old problem of trying to hold off the potential deterioration. As things stand, two more sets of injections before we know whether the drugs are working.
Your videos have been missed. I hope that 2024 will be a fruitful year for you. Have you tried the two calligraphy inks on dark paper? I would expect the lighter one to be very interesting on a dark green or black paper.
Happy New Year! I didn't spot this vid until just now, so apologies for the late comment. I have one Dominant Industry ink: Winter Night. It's glorious, and the bottle is beautiful. Only shimmer ink I currently own (if you discount the darker variant I made by adding Waterman Black 😉)
Thank you for another fun video! Based upon your recommendations, I tried Dominant Industry inks and am really enjoying some of them . I love Forest - it is a lovely green ink. I also really enjoy Periwinkle Twinkle, but Periwinkle Blue is a bit on the dry side. Now, I will have to give Unicorn a try. I generally am not a "sparkle-shimmery" fan. Because I write so much, I generally prefer standard inks. Thanks again! And good luck with the eye treatments.
Glad you liked it, and I can understand your feelings. I have to admit, just now I'm using Earl Grey (Diamine), Writer's Blood (also), and Cross's Black for sketching. But those Dominant Industry inks are just glorious!
