In 1994 the shortline Delaware-Lackawanna became the temporary operator of mostly former Lehigh Valley Railroad lines between Pittson, Wilkes-Barre and Hanover Township, PA. The route had been operated by the Pocono Northeast and survives today as the Luzerne & Susquehanna but for a short season it was home to the Alco Centuries of the D-L.
