I just laugh about how the editors put a bleep noise over when she said "god dam". because when it's bleeped you think she sais "the day of the fu***ng recital"
The producers are going to turn this scene into something completely different when it airs they are going to make it look like kelly is attacking maddie over paige's solo im so glad this was uploaded so i could see what really goes on during filming
This isn't the like, big important part of the video but it's SO NICE to get closure on what Brooke and Paige's characters would've been in the back to school photoshoot.
Ok, I was at the recital. And I have too say I was so I upset not to see Paige and Brooke perform. I have a niece that watches every episode, and her favorite dancer is Paige. I watched the show and even tho she's not the best, my favorite is Chloe. Is Maddie the best, yes! Is she everyone's favorite, no. So the next time I drive 4 hours for my niece. I'm going to need Abby and Kelly to get along, just so everyone can see there favorites perform.

Yes and No. Originally, Dance Moms was supposed to be a 6 episode series where they go to 6 studios and follow them for a week. But because of Abby, they kept filming and changed the who series around Abby and her studio.
Christi said this at a meet and greet (not word-for-word, but same general idea): LifeTime records everything as they see it-- none of it is scripted. But we're together nearly 24/7, and the cameras leave out the footage of us actually being friends. Because we're more than the show makes us out to be. We're family. But LifeTime doesn't seem to want people to be aware of it. Yup.
This part wasn't even scripted. All of this was shown on TV. When they redid Maddie's part to volunteer they also showed Abby telling her to volunteer...
@@Happyfish5678 if you look at the final edited version on lifetimes channel when abby asks maddie the 2nd time to do her solo Survivor you can her what is muted but faint and kelly is saying how the show is scripted.
It's not scripted, but the producers tell the girls and the moms to do and say things that make them look a certain way. For example, Christi told me at a meet n greet that all of the moms get in tons of arguments with Abby (like Kelly's here) but the ones they show on TV are 90% Christi's fights, making her look like the 'bad mom.' So it's not scripted, but they choose certain parts of filming to look a certain way.
The thing is , Paige didn't want to NOT do a solo . On the show , it shows that she wanted to do a solo , just an old solo that she knows which , IMO makes sense . I understand why Kelly blew up, Abby cut Paige's entire solo section because Paige didn't want to learn a new solo in one day then tried to make it seen like Maddie was up for the challenge. I love Maddie and all the girls but Abby was wrong and she knows it . Seriously people , you think Kelly is the bad guy here ?

Kelly just said on her twitter that the show is not scripted nor staged. It's just very very edited. As you can tell from last nights episode compared to this. Also, in this clip they talked about jill doing her number, but in the show last night it just showed Abby going up in the rooms where the moms sit to watch the girls to tell her that she wanted her to do her Tango number.
It will be interesting to see how they edit it to look like Kelly is pissed that Maddie is taking Paiges solo instead, because I can guarantee that is what it will look like on the show.

At 4:50 Abby forgot "trench coats are usually" made for adults. Not 4.5 foot tall kids. Also the "call the police" moment while Abby goes away to the opposite side of the stage. Abby Karened Kelly.
it airs in a few weeks, i think it's around the end of the month. it's going to be portrayed differently though, although Paige and Brooke are now on the competition team again, they will bring in Payton.
Abby said "It's Wednesday evening" and the solo would be for the Sunday matinee which was today. So I don't understand why Kelly was saying she was given the solo the day of the recital. BTW, Maddie did two solos and Jill also did her ballroom dance (I guess taking Paige and Brooke's spots). They did "Your Dream Will be My Dream" without them and it made no sense. They also did "Last Text", but just got another girl to sit in Paige's spot.
I heard that they were already gone before this happened...that they were just going to competition practices for the show (I assume to fulfill their contracts), but not taking other classes. It seemed odd that Abby would allow them to compete without being there as much as the other girls, but who knows. I was surprised to see them in picture in the add for the recital, but the Sunday matinee was pretty much for fans. Last year the girls on the show were not featured as much in the recital.
Lifetime is the network that airs the show (yes, they are part of the problem). Collins Avenue Productions is the company that produces the show. Why do you think Jeff Collins, the exec producer is the one who hosts the reunion shows? Kelly was bold to say that the show was scripted/situated so finally everyone can shut up about how it is not.
i have seen some post about them leaving and when it was Nias b-day they through a little party and I saw a photo with everyone but paige and brooke but hopefully they are still there
one thing that really bugs me... even if it is not completely scripted, they went over Maddie's little part for her to actually volunteer again. Therefore, when we all see the real episode and she "volunteers," Abby is like this is why she gets better treatment because she actually wants it. really maddie just looks better than the others because they re-recorded. As you can see, none of the girls actually volunteered!
its weird because you see them having blow ups on tv but you don't realise they probably have just as many blow ups about the actual show and how things are portrayed :O
This video was posted June 14th. The recital Abby is talking about (the Sunday matinee) was June 16th. Paige couldn't have been assigned the solo the day of the recital. Kelly made no sense saying that she was. Abby even says in the video that it is Wednesday evening.

I'm thinking the only reason they showed Abby telling Maddie to volunteer was because this video was already on RU-vid and lifetime would look even worse if they really did edit the video to show Maddie volunteering after people had already seen this video and known what really happened. Lifetime was just protecting themselves. I'm sure that, if it weren't for this video, Lifetime would have edited it to show Maddie volunteering. They edit all of their shows that way. just how reality tv works

Paige didn't want to do the solo so Abby asked for a volenteer and no one did. But the did it again and made maddie raise her hand. So it's scripted, because no one wanted to do it, but they're going to film it as if maddie originally volenteered. That's what Kelly meant when she said it was scripted.
I do think they would get in trouble, many people are saying Kelly's probably going to get kicked out now. And I know I want to watch the girls dancing and not so much of the staged drama, but there are many adults who only watch for the drama. I wish Lifetime would make a compromise and have more of the dancing and to see more of the girls REAL personalities, and then have some fake drama added in. It would be so much better, I think.

I think Kelly should get mad bout it bc it was suppose to go to her daughter but Paige didn't want it so Abby tried to replace her solo like 2 days before recital and Kelly is wondering why! She was also explaining why do you ask someone to volunteer but no one did and then Abby just gave to maddie even though she might didn't even want it! That's why!
I feel bad for maddie. If she doesn't want to do another solo she shouldn't have to. It's like lifetime is trying to come up with new characters for the girls. Such as they want to portray paige as the underdog so they don't show the majority of her solos.

I think its the day of the recital, and abby wanted paige to do a new solo. Paige said no because she didn't want to learn a solo in a day. Abby then goes 'does anyone want to do a solo' no one replies. Then maddie is told she is meant to raise her hand so they do a new take and kelly starts yelling about how scripted the show is.
I knew it was scripted but on the Q & A's Abby lied to everyones faces sayinng it WASNT scripted.... Good on you is all i can say Kelly. Not getting a 'gd enough drama'the first time wen abby offered up a solo so they had to do it again to make it seem better. I love dance moms i do and

The first time they asked, no one volunteered. They then re-filmed it and told maddie to put up her hand and volunteer. Then kelly blew up because i guess she's just sick of all the crap and it being so scripted. Kelly's completely in the right.
I've just heard that on here, and this is what I heard : Paige and Brooke and Kelly refused to come to the recital, so Abby expelled them. But it's not for sure.
Who are the idiots that still say its not scripted there's clearly live evidence right there guys recorded form a phone or some type . I'm supper proud of Kelly good job they all need to take there kids else where because they deserve so much more. They all have talent and I hate that it's wasted there
Either the show needs to be cancelled or the producers should be fired and the show moved to a new network/production company. When trying to stage/set-up/script children, that is where a line is crossed and that is what Kelly was saying.
