Male, middle aged and in Australia too. I also, can't work out why I'm so fascinated. I think it could be a combination of a master crafter at work and dad jokes. Well, that's my excuse.
Male 74 Virginia absolutely fascinated by these videos. Have literally spent hours watching all of them. I think it’s Steve’s personality and craftsmanship along with isn’t this the way things should be made!
I've been following you since the grainy footage days, since before "hammertime" and "let's continue" was a thing. It's been fun watching the quality of your videos improve, watching you learn how to be a RU-vidr (and all that entails). You are a true and proper craftsman and you take a lot of pride in your work, which I find admirable. You have a good sense of humor and a good moral compass - from calling out inept repairwork to letting your best buddy go when it became necessary. I hope that you keep the videos coming and that business is going well, despite the state of things. Best wishes from Norway! Alright, let's continue!
I’m a woman, fashion stylist, and your channel is surely one of my favorites. You inspire me with the love you show trough your job. Thank you for that. We need more professionals like you. I’m Brazilian, 23 years old and probably not your most frequent type of viewer, but I just want to let you know how precious I find your craftsmanship and character. Please, (let’s) continue!
Sadly, I've hit a point where I only trust people who have shown me their work on RU-vid (Steve, Trenton & Heath, Jim McFarland, etc.). Too much crap work out there to trust a stranger with my shoes.
@@emalinedickinson7492 I discovered Dan recently and love his videos. Steve has also given a shout out to CobblerG (Mark Gibson), a young cobbler doing great work in Dunfermline, Scotland.
I also watch the channel for...the watches. I like your taste in timepieces. But the repairs first. Then the watches. And the humour, I like that too. Heck, I like it all.
Female subscriber here! I don’t often comment because I’m usually watching you on my sewing room TV - I make clothing for myself and have machine envy!
Almost 70, female and in USA. We enjoy watching Steve work because he is a skilled professional, something that was more common in our youth. What is passed off today as quality is mostly trash. Steve reminds me what great craftsmen are about, people that take pride in their work. Appreciate that these priceless gems are still around.
You are heard, Steve. I am a female, and I love your work. I sew myself; not professionally, but I can do some alterations and repairs for my family. Actually, I learned some techniques from you that I can use in sewing too. Thank you for your wonderful work, your moral compass, and honest personality. Already subscribed, and thumbs up is a must. How can it be the other way?!
Thanks for another great vid. To make something that looked so tired and badly treated into a pair of shoes that anyone would be happy to own . well done Steve a master at work. I am one of your female watches on the other side of the pond also Very old, enjoying seeing a caring professional at work.
Lady viewer here. I love all your videos, but I love seeing the bags get new life. I'm just surprised at the shoddy materials some manufacturers use, then have the gall to charge top dollar.
Hi Steve! Sorry I'm not watching consistently. Been sick.. not covid. I really like your channel. Not enough people have the skills you show. Your a master cobbler!!!
I am a woman and I love watching your videos. I honestly don’t know how I came across shoe repair videos but they are so cool! My husband just laughs when I telling him what I am watching lol! Keep up the great work!!
I have never missed one video from the start. I would rather watch shoe repair than fancy handbags but I enjoy them all.Great job on the whiskey shells. Thanks Steve.
Us ladies love your work. Thank you for sharing your videos, your stories, your dad jokes and your talent with us. Ignore the negative comments and just keep being you.
Quite apart from the repair, 4:00 or so did my heart good. It's wonderful to see a small business so busy. When it's quiet -- and I know you do a lot of work in the wee hours of the morning, so that doesn't count -- that's when I worry.
Steve, why do you think people value and love you so much! It’s because you deliver quality repairs! You will not believe how much the general public suffers having to go back and forth with shoddy work from technicians and artisans from the skilled trades! SMDH
These are some of my favourite videos. I love it when you take a badly done shoe, and show us why it’s bad and how it should be done, it is so educational. Great vid, thank you.
I'm female. Been following you for about a year now. I absolutely enjoy your videos and look forward to each post. This was another beautiful repair. " Let's continue!" 😃
I'm female too. From Montreal Quebec Canada. I really enjoy watching you work. I have watched all your bags videos and now continuing with shoes. You are very meticulous and details are really important to you. Like that! Anxious to see more of work. Have a nice w-e. Stay safe. Francine.
What do I know about shoe repair? Only what I learned from you Steve. My background is maritime communications, 18 years. But dear God, you can see by looking at it that it isn’t right. If I can see that then it’s little wonder that sort of thing upsets you. Great job Steve. Done to perfection. Shine on
I love your channel. It is fascinating to me to see what other people do for a living and how they do it. I would never have been exposed to the cobbler's trade if it had not been for content creators like yourself who upload this sort of content. I bought a couple of your tee shirts. Excellent quality. Thumbs up.
With that mustache it looks like you are going to join a barbershop quartet. And now the Bedo Barflys with their rendition of "Hammer Time in the City" I Love your channel.
Female here, I watch everything you do, of course nice to watch when level of your creativity goes of scale and you wait impatiently to see finished work. You are awesome!
It's all about ethics and standards and ability. You have a high level of all three. Some people lack ethics or ability and their standards suffer accordingly. Your work is artistic!
I've been watching you at work for a good six months now and I am enthusiastic about your abilities. The shoemaker's profession is very interesting and also diverse. To see how a shoe is made or repaired is very instructive and exciting. I will continue to look over your shoulder. Your fan, Erwin, sends you greetings from Germany.
You’re such a wizard! I’m in college and I’ll be in class watching your videos only for other students to ask me are you watching a guy redoing shoes? And I will answer absolutely!
Once again you work you’re magic! I’m female and love to watch people who are masters at their craft. I learn so much and gain respect for artisans of all kind. I’m still a newbie subscriber, maybe a couple months old, but I like every video I watch, and try to always leave a comment. I also am going through your old videos. Let’s continue....
Come on Steve! You got that sweet cigar tie and you aren't showing it off more?!?!? It took me a minute to confirm those were cigars! Another fantastic transformation, Steve! Those look great!
As a woman, loyal viewer and great admirer of your masterful work, I am here as always Steve! Thanks for another outstanding job on these now beautiful shoes! Lisa
Beuteful result. Great job. 😀 No... no halfway done job here, only the bedst. 😊 Hope you and your family had a good Easter.. 😀 🌹 Stay safe and take care Big hugs from stine, from Denmark 🇩🇰 🌹 🌺 🥰 💝 🌺
Beautiful rescue and restore of what was a really terrible job done by the previous repair person. I'm one of your female viewers/subscibers. Love watching your videos and seeing your craftsmanship. The sad part is that your videos make it apparent just how better constructed men's shoes are versus women's. No comparison!
I love that you do the channel for the stitching freehand with a utility blade and they are just as consistent as if you'd used whatever the special tool is called to do that. Who has time to go hunt up another tool when you already have the blade right there. I'm guessing that was a somewhat expensive repair, but those are really high quality shoes and the next resole will go so much smoother because of the work you did.
that`s a quality moustache! and what a job on restoring a supercrappy repair job - those shoes had more glue residue than you would see on a kid`s model airplane - jebuz!
HI, STEVE!!! These shoes aren't my taste, since I'm a female, and have no legs, but they remind me of a good cigar or a comfortable old leather chair. Love your craftsmanship, Steve!!! You still the Man! 👞🎩
That was an amazing re-work job you did, they look like new!.... If the other guy has invested the time and money in an outsole stitcher you would think he`d know how its meant to be used... Unbelievable!... They ended up in the right Man`s hands in the end ;-) Great to watch, thanks for sharing.
Super glue...that would be my go to. Your channel has caused me to be a finicky shopper. Looking at shoes for my husband and left the store without considering any worthy of our cash! Boy a lot of shoes are built shoddy!
Welcome to the new reality TV programming. These Everyman (woman) vids on RU-vid done with a good story are fascinating to us all. The variety is enormous, and you get to leave a comment. By the way, Nice tie.
I always love your vids. Entertaining, educational, and amazing craftsmanship. I would love to see you make something custom; shoes, a bag, a jacket, etc 😱 Maybe a pair of custom old fashioned shoes like what your dad used to make!
