Try local butchers . I live in Texas and there’s tons of Mexican Latin super markets and have great fresh affordable meat selection . They don’t have any meat shortages! Very affordable. Chicken drumsticks for .43 cents a pound . Try a store like that
Thanks for the tip! I always forget we have a local butcher about 7 minutes away from us in the other direction. I need to call up there and see what they have. :)
Hi Mandy. I can't wait to see what you make with this grocery haul. The meals you mentioned sounded wonderful. Have a great weekend and stay well and healthy.
The tomato basil chicken sausage and the Rotisseries Turkey Tenderloin are faves at our house. And yes on the marshmallow pinwheel cookies....I LOVE my Aldi.
I just bought the churros, they are so good!!! The flavored waters, thats what we drink instead of soda/pop. We love it. The white grape has a sharp bite to it, my favorite from there is black cherry. We love the Walmart brand too, the orange & cream is so good!!
My fav from Walmart is the Cherry Vanilla!!! And yes, we have been buying these waters instead of regular soda recently and loving it. :) Thanks for watching, Karen!
Thanks for sharing the new foods you try from Aldi.Sometimes i don't see them until someone make a post on them.I am trying the white chocolate mocha creamer. Love it.
Hi Mandy! I love watching your videos. Thanks for posting them. I’m so obsessed with pickle anything, I have pickle popsicles in my freezer!! That popcorn is making my mouth water! I don’t have an Aldi where I live... bummer! I’m obsessed with orzo too! It’s great as a cold salad with Greek dressing and feta and veggies and the best is stirred into tomato soup! Thanks again!!
My mom was allergic to avocado for years she would swell up in the face area lips and eyes and have breathing problems... come to find out it was a reaction the avocado had with a medication she took and she is fine now but we found that avocado is used in a lot of things...definitely something to be cautious about if he is showing symptoms. I just love your family ya’ll are so sweet!
Girl I love snacking on croutons. I thought it was strange. Guess its not. I like to dip them in Salad dressing sometimes too. Also, Thank you for sharing my recipe!! Hope everyone loves it!
I make a delicious Orzo pasta Salad. It makes alot but last 3 or 4 days in the refrigerator. If you do not mind leftovers make the entire recipe. If not, them maybe cut the recipe in half. I also give you add ins to turn it into a full meal which is great to take for lunches. ORZO PASTA SALAD 1 box orzo pasta cooked al dente 2 medium zucchini seeded and chopped 1/2 finely diced red onion 1 diced yellow or orange pepper 1 small container of grape or cherry tomatoes cut in half. Season to taste with salt and pepper. The dressing is 1 cup of your favorite pesto sauce. I buy the small jar of Barilla as it is shelf stable so it lasts longer and that's plenty. That's the basic salad. You can also add feta or fresh mozzarella cheese, chopped kalamata olives and cooked and diced chicken or shrimp. Sometimes by the 3rd day I add a little olive oil for a little more moisture as the pasta soaks up the pesto. It does not take much. This is a recreation of a salad we ate on a cruise we took. When I was catering this was one of my most requested salads. I always added in the feta or mozzarella and the olives. I started using the mozzarella when some people did not care for feta.
I know this video is from 2 years ago but if you see this message. Just a helpful tip with avocado that if your avocado is not ripe yet place a banana on the counter next to them and by the time you are ready to eat at night it will be ripe. Can't remember why but its a very true and helpful hack. Also My auntie is allergic to avocado and I believe she figured it out in her mid 20's. Love your video's.
Finally gave in and your channel is the first one I’ve ever subscribed to. 😊 I’ve already tried several recipes that my family has enjoyed. And my youngest son is the same age as yours so I know exactly what it means to get that 👍🏼 Blessings to you and your family! ☺️
Hi Mandy, I just found your channel. I'm from Minnesota, but had a good friend that lived in SC. "I really miss the y'allsss!" NOTE: on avocado. I have a latex allergy, my MD said I could also be allergic to avocado and kiwi. They run in the same family of tree I guess 🤷🏻♀️. Y'all Enjoy your spring and stay safe! 😁
Welcome!! I'm so glad you are here! Several people have messaged me about the latex allergy being related to avocado allergy - very interesting! Thank you for the info and I hope you have a great Memorial Day tomorrow!
That coffee sounds amazing! A special treat I get sometimes is a cold brew with white chocolate and raspberry. Then I have them add cold foam and strawberry purée on the top. It is so good!!!! Can’t wait to try this!
Great haul Mandy, can't wait for your Queso Chicken recipe, its sure to be tasty. We shorten worcestershire sauce to Wooster sauce but to say it correctly its pronounced woostershir lol. Can't wait for the next video xx
Hi Mandy! I am also allergic to Avocado, it makes my lips and mouth swollen and itchy. I had surgery recently and the doctor told me that if you are allergic to avocado that it also indicates a latex allergy as well. They had to use non-latex gloves to make sure I didn't have a reaction. Not sure how or why they are related but you may want to test Cole for a latex allergy as well. I hope ya'll are well. Take care!
I’m by myself, so I use meat in small portions. I’m also Diabetic so I use keto.I try to be low carb a lot. I’m careful about carbs. It helps to control my Diabetes better. I eat more vegetables than the average person. And salads. I’m going to try Thrive Market. And Butcher Box. Right now I don’t have much room in each freezer.
I don’t know if you have ever done a cold Orzo Salad, but if you haven’t done one maybe try one. The Italian & Mediterranean ones are kinda boring, but there are lots of OTHER types that have lotsa lemon or lime (maybe a little zest too), veggies, chicken chunks and various nuts like Pine Nuts that seem brighter and healthier.
I love the Turkey tenderloin. Ive grilled it, awesome! Ive baked it n put it over rice. Very versatile n i really like couscous! N my brother loves snacking on the aldi croutons. Have a good day n God bless ☺💜🌹
I see that you bought alfredo sauce at Aldi's. I love their sauce. My mom asked me to make alfredo last night and I had Walmart's brand Alfredo.....I used it and it was not nearly as good as the Aldi's brand.....I love a lot of Aldi's products. I have seen that some people put down their produce....I have never found a problem with their produce. I have not been shopping there as much because Walmart's pickup is so easy ...can't stand to go inside right now......I will certainly be glad when all these precautions are lifted.... Thanks for the video. I'm always watching for your new one.
Thanks Susan! I've had a problem with some of the produce going bad more quickly but overall it's been just fine. That only happened a couple of times. Yes, Aldi brands are GREAT! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great weekend!
Italian sweet cream is delicious! I like to switch up my creamer but caramel macchiato and whites chocolate mocha are my favs. I just got the sweet cream and I love it!
Thanks for the info on the menu board I ordered one yesterday. And by the way Clemson is a great team with a great coach BUT we are huge Alabama fans roll tide!!!!!
You can make cinnamon twists out of flour taco shells just them into strips air fry or bake toss in melted butter and then cinnamon sugar and there you go Taco Bell use to have them in the triangle shape long ago , I have been making them for ever
OMG - I use that Jalepeno Artichoke dip as pasta sauce. Add some chicken! It just turns into Chicken Jalepeno Artichoke alfredo. (I use it on zoodles - SO BOMB!)
Mandy, great hauls! I love going to Aldi because the prices are just unbeatable and they have very unique things. Hope y'all are safe and well. Kisses to Gracie Lou. 🐱💖💖💖🌻🌻💟
When you mentioned the Mexican Alfredo, it was like a buzz word for me. I did a Mexican Alfredo recipe a few months back and had never seen anyone do it prior to that. Checked hers out, but it’s completely different from mine. The different take was interesting. I use the traditional Alfredo seasonings, but add cumin and instead of finishing with Parmesan, I use Cotija cheese. It’s awesome. May give the taco version a try. Tfs.
Nice haul. Meat here where we live is available but the prices are almost double on the pound! Scary trying to feed us on a tight budget. God bless y'all. Enjoyed.
The Never Any Tomato Basil Sausages are SO GOOD!!! Also, what about the Millville Toaster Tarts to save some money? My husband says they're just as good as brand name! Also curious about the dill popcorn, we got the dill potato chips earlier this year, they were delicious!
Thanks!! I watch Sunny Lenarduzzi and I swear I saw your channel featured on one of her videos recently - am I remembering correctly? If so, congrats - that was cool!
Now that we have moved I can actually shop at ALDI! I really hope that ours will have the Churros. Yum! I’m glad you shared that the chocolate milk is good. I’ll grab some for my boys. Also, my guys snack on croutons, too. So funny. Great haul!
My daughter got a viral induced allergy to banana peels when she was 2. She could eat bananas but touching the peels set off an allergic skin reaction and if she touched her lips after the peel her lips swelled. We did have her tested for a latex allergy though because bananas as well as avocados and a few others such as kiwis are in the family of latex allergies you should consider have him tested for that. Most likely as it was a sudden onset it is viral induces allergy .
New subscriber. Heading to my Aldi tomorrow and hoping I can find the cinnamon churros. I usually can never find the good new things. I LOVE the cinnamon apple straws variety.
Hey Mandy, I'm sorry you didn't get the meat you wanted. Looks like you got some great stuff! You opening the popcorn reminded me how my Mama always opened packages with scissors and insisted that I do so when at her house. At times, I would set out to prove that I could open a bag of chips without tearing it. It seemed liked everytime I tore the package. It didn't matter how old I was, I had to get a Mama scolding.😂
I am loving the grocery hauls! I am dying to try the cinnamon twists from Aldi, I love the ones from Taco Bell. My best friend is also allergic to avocados. Her lips swell too! She just developed this allergy over the last couple of years.
Good morning Mandy!! Check your local meat markets for meat. I know the meat guy we get ours from has different size boxes. Have a great day. PS looking forward to your next what's for dinner.
You probably know about this but the stores sell the powdered butter milk. I think it’s in the baking section although it’s been awhile since I e bought it. ❤️❤️
I haven't found a dill pickle flavored popcorn that I like. I love eating pickles and popcorn together. I love the Kettle brand dill pickle potato chips. They are hard to find though
I am actually allergic to Avocados too, and I used to eat it all the time and love it!!! I also have tried the pickle popcorn, I felt it was just ok as well.
Hi Mandie, I’m from the uk, we brits just call it Worcester sauce ( whuster) drop the shire, it’s just to much of a mouthful, I love your vids keep em coming xx
You got a great deal on that supersized dukes. As u probably know a regular sized is that at the wal not a member of sams and besides its 30 minutes away from us .but we e an aldies. And of course the superwalmart. U got a pretty good haul .ure gonna luv that breadi luv the churros from aldies
I wanted it for dinner last night just because I didn't want to cook but Cole wanted the chicken nuggets so that's what we went with. LOL Can't wait to try them!
I got the tomato basil chicken sausages last week. So good! I made them with penne pasta and vodka sauce. I also go the churros. My 5 yo loves the twists at TB. He said they were better than the TB ones.
haha I actually really like the dill pickle popcorn! I don't know if I'll buy it again only because I don't normally buy stuff like that but it was so good! 😀
My grangirl loves those big dill pickles and we buy them for her in the big jug from Sam's so I will have to get that dill pickle popcorn for her. I really do like your meal planner board on your fridge. Do you have a link so that I can get one? Thanks for your videos.
At Sam's Get the Members Mark Avacado Salsa.... I'm hooked on that stuff. We've tried the Aldi Turkey Tenderloin and didn't like it much but we baked it so grilled may be better. We love the Aldi smoked Sausage.
Oh that salsa sounds good! I'll have to keep an eye out for that. I'll let you know what we think about the turkey tenderloin. Hope y'all are doing well! Tell the fam we said hey!!
You do a wonderful job, Mandy! I too like that you have a sweet calming southern voice, not one that is exaggerated for effect like Paula. Have a great remainder of the week!
I don't normally watch grocery hauls, but seen it was Aldi's and wanted to check it out! Taco Bell does still have the Cinn. Twists, but they are really lame now! (at least ours is) We just had some a couple times recently (like last night) and they barely have any flavor. Skimping on the seasons, like they forgot it was part of the deal. Aldi's is on my radar for today anyway, so I'm gonna check for the Churros!. I actually don't care for their meat so much. I've purchased chicken thighs there, but then they started having lots of hard feather bits stuck in the skins, so that was a turn off. We do love the stuff in the freezer section and the produce. Bananas can be kind of weird though. Thanks for the insight & sharing!!
