Aldious and a band called Destrose are the primary two bands that started the current all female rock/metal band era in Japan, which doesn't seem to be slowing down. Destrose formed in 2007 while Aldious formed the following year. Other than having bad luck with vocalists, Aldious has been fairly stable and successful. Destrose, on the other hand, was never stable and finally ended in 2015. Destrose, a 5 piece band, had about 20 different members in its 8 year existence and is more known for what various members did afterward. For example, bassist Miho and drummer Haruna started Lovebites. Vocalist Eye and guitarist Saki, who weren't in Destrose at the same time, later were in Mary's Blood together. Mary's Blood ended and now Saki is part of Nemophila and Eye has started a solo career (her first solo album is actually very good). Another example is drummer Risa Risa and guitarist Narumi who started a band called Disqualia, and they added a guitarist named Hazuki. Narumi is now with a band called Lonesome_Blue and Hazuki is the other guitarist for Nemophila (not sure what happened to Risa Risa). To really organize how all of these female bands are interconnected would require a big wall and a lot of string.

Aldious are the OGs of all female J-Metal and they are best served live. They are an excellent live band. Their style is “Hostess” and initially people looked at the image be assumed they couldn’t play. They were blown away when they did play live. There was another band around back in 2008 called Destrose who seeded a lot of the bands you’ve watched but these young ladies were the first to have any success with their album “Deep Exceed”. They have been through three vocalists and are looking for a fourth. Probably. They are touring this year with Maki Oyama who’s very good but pretty different to the vocalist here - Re:NO who has a solo album out that’s pretty damn good. As Aldious have been around for 15 years they have a lot of history and a large catalogue that is all good. Once again, check them out live - Dominator, Megalomaniac, Spirit Black, Yozakura, Reincarnation, Re:FIRE etc. etc. they are an awesome band.

Welcome to Aldious Asaf and Itai.. 5 piece all female Japanese band. Twin leads Toki and Yoshi are a fantastic duo, with Sawa, another awesome Japanese female bassist driving the rythm section with Marina Bozzio on Drums (in this video) and the Goddess Re:No on vocals.. That silky smooth voice to me, is the sound of Aldious.. I believe she is recording again and can only hope she returns to make the band whole again.. They do a great mix of Rock, metal and pop and have many great tracks.. Their song Reincarnation (Live) is very very cool with a guest Violinist.. Aldious is a really good band, and also an "old" one. Founded in 2008, but with really bad luck with their singers. They start with a singer called Rami, but she left the band. The new one, the one in the video is Re-No, a really good singer and excelent front woman, but she suffer from a condition called Patulous Eustachian tube, and it appears some years ago, so she left the band. Now Re-No is singing again. Aldious got then a new singer: R!N, but she got hospitalized with mental disorders. Now Aldious have no vocalist, but they perform sometimes with a singer called Maki Oyama (another excelent singer). Aldious have themes in a wide range, from power and trash to poppy "metal" songs. Their live performances are really good. The drum set of Marina... well it´s something in the blood. Their steppather Terry Bozzio is the one who teach him drums. Oh, and they also changed more musicians along the years, before Marina they have a drummmer called Aruto, but she left the band after got married because her hushband must work in other part of Japan .Also have another bass player for a short time called Kaze. Like many other bands... Aldious is really better live. Try some live theme like Dominator or Yozakura.

Hey guys, late post here on this one, but the drummer for Aldious, Marina Bozzio, is the daughter of legendary drummer Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa's drummer). She uses the three bass drums in honor of her dad.

OG female metal band of the modern scene. I personally am a massive fan of this band. The older you go with them the heavier they generally get. The drummer as you have read is Marina Bozzio and I think you should check out an older song with their previous lineup and original drummer "Aruto" live. People seem to have you covered with the history... there were women bands before, ShowYa really worked to keep a female scene together & progressing. But then Cyntia, Destrose (that spawned a literal dozen bands), Aldious (then Gacharic Spin, Light Bringer(Fuki), & more) really kicked off the "decade of Japanese female metal" artists. Marina Bozzio has been their drummer half their career (about... since 2015), Terry Bozzio's stepdaughter who also borrowed his 3 kick drum thang... They've had 5 singers, all great. I'm partial to R!N from 2019-202, but as far as i know they only put out one single during her stint, plus the live 10th anniversary DVD. They identify as metal, pioneered band-maid's "The Gap" (look vs sound) with evening gowns (tho Doll$Boxx did the maid outfits in 2012, bandmaid started 2013, but Saki (Mary'sBlood, Nemophila) had a band ("Mixx"?) back around 2010 that did maids), but definitely have well (over?) produced (radio friendly) studio work. We Are might be their most popular and i think it's all English, even tho it's hard to tell & been done by 4 singers now... Show Down has some, but is it all? dunno. And Sweet Temptation ended with her repeating ad infinitum "Is it a sin to want you to want me?" For a film-makers' video, try Marina Hebiishi's band Mardelas (others are male), she's from near the end of Destrose during their most popular period [2011-14, with only major release; played with Miho & Haruna from Lovebites, Narumi from Lonesome Blue (& fillin for Aldious, & worked with Hazuki of Nemophila for years), Hanako of Octaviagrace, & Captain Mina (now of Fate Gear)]. Killer voice, maybe more Fuki than Asami. Bits of English are fun (she does like to use harsh language: "my blade wants your blood", "lost in your f***'n lies" etc...). The video gives me Lupin the Third vibes, or James Bond-ish. She composed the song, but also the somewhat cinematic (tv theme?) intro. I love this band. But I would have recommended you other videos - mostly "live" versions. Anyone who sees this video will probably get the wrong impression of Aldiouis. That's how it was for me in 2020. I didn't get interested in Aldious again until 2022 when Miho from Lovebites started hanging out with the girls from this band. Only then did I come across the Aldious "live stuff" and was annoyed about the almost 2 lost years. Aldious celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. They will be releasing new songs and will start new live shows soon. Info: Yoshi the boss of Aldious has created a seasonal (DDS) cover band for the fall/winter season. In addition to Yoshi (Aldious Lead), Miho (ex Destrose/Lovebites Bass), Saki (Nemophila Lead, ex Destrose Lead exMary's Blood Lead), Narumi (ex Destrose Lead, Lonsome_Blue Lead) and Hina (drummer of the band TSP) play in this band . In Aldious as well as in the cover band Down dope Squad are the amazing singer Maki Oyama. But Maki also has a successful solo career with her own band. Maki Oyama also occasionally sings cover songs with the instrumental band Asterism. The Japanese women's rock/metal world is the most interesting thing I've discovered in the last 30 years of music history. The women's ramifications also go far into the funk/blues/jazz fusion music genres. Senri Kawaguchi, Kanade Sato, Juna Serita, Rina Hoshino, Rie a.k.a. Suzaku and many more are female musicians that every music fan in the world should get to know.

Aldious is a great band. Took me awhile to get into them. Sweet Temptation was my go to song. Today Scrash is my all time favorite. So are all the songs from District Zero album. Scrash, Ground Angel, Misty Moon, Yozakara, White Crow, and Repeatly are the best of that album, plus I think Scabby Heart is a available on RU-vid. Many you have to get Live Versions of. Rami (Different Lead Singer) released the Ground Angel video first. But I am sure they also have a Live Version available with Re:No.

Seems a bit hard for Eurovision.
