I very much appreciate the menu descriptions being posted with the photos. I am very visual and so those are helpful to me. I also appreciate the audio descriptions for those with visual challenges. Basically, your content is becoming more accessible to all and that is a great thing.
Craig - nice job on the editing. I see you changed it up a bit. I like the b-roll of the area and the location itself, and reviewing the photos of the items while Pete is wrapping was a nice touch!
Love you three together! I always enjoy Craig's solo reviews (and I'll never forget the masterpiece that is Craig & Corey's 2 Dudes On a Cruise) but when together I think you all really shine.
Yay! It’s Pete, Craig, and Erica! Thank you all for the lunch review! Good to know. 🥳 Ale & Compass shines at breakfast, however. The Bacon and Blueberry pancakes and the Shrimp and Grits are delicious and are presented well with good portion sizes. Yes, Craig is correct regarding the dark atmosphere of Ale & Compass, however, I love the nautical and Navy Blue themed esthetic and it is a mood!😜🥳🎉🥞🫐🥓🍤🥣
Our last Disney trip we ate at Ale and Compass, Cape May Cafe and Beaches & Cream. Ale and Compass is the only one I would consider returning to. We had dinner and I had the short ribs and truffles fries and I thought they were both very good.
Hey Pete - Charging $14 dollars for bread service is a new thing in many Disney restaurant (ex: Steakhouse 71 etc...) and part of their nickel and dime policy....
Thank you for such a great review. The DIS dining reviews are what have helped me plan my lunch/dinner reservations starting with my first WDW trip back in 2018 (& the several trips since then...). I just have to say that I love that shirt on Pete! Those colors look fantastic on him!
dinner and breakfast there are amazing! The pasta dish and the chicken entree are wicked tasty! the apple cobbler is perfect too. Maybe try dinner? I dont go to WDW to order grilled cheese and soup. The tacos looked nice too !
Tangerine, the outside pool bar at the Swan Reserve, has a great burger with feta cheese on a brioche bun, for about the same price. It comes with paprika enhanced fries, as well. But you cannot use a Magic Band or Disney Gift Card at the location - cash or credit, unless staying at the Swolphin or Reserve properties. Another option in the Crescent Lake area. On my last trip, I noticed the quality went down at the Ale and Compass for lunch - my grilled cheese was not adequately cooked. However, for breakfast the blueberry pancakes were great. I ordered the kids portion via mobile order and it was the best breakfast of the trip.
Can you review Trattoria al Forno again now that Chef Tim Majoras has gone back to Flying Fish? Is it still as good? Thanks for another great and honest review!
Tell me I'm poor without telling me I'm poor. $40 for five rolls and an average grilled cheese and tomato soup, I would be beyond disappointed. Probably a one and done for me.
Pete I can't believe you suggested Big River Grill. When we were there last time it was sticky, dirty, poor service, and poor food choices (who doesn't have a fryer in their restaurant?).
Good review - but reminds me of the restaurant scene in Heat with Al pacino and Robert Di Niro where they are talking facing each other but shot individually in front of the camera - as if it was shot at different times
I didn't taste it, but it looked like a standard bowl of Tomato Basil Soup which isn't always made with cream and can be very acidic. If your expectations and preference is for creamy then it probably isn't going to go well.
I keep seeing this restaurant listed with plenty of reservations available every time I checked to see what’s available recently. I kept thinking “is this some new place at Disney Springs?” and then just ignored it. I feel like someone needs to take my obsessive Disney fan card away now LOL…
I want Pete to be my friend. I know if I wore an outfit out for the night, he'd say "Bob....that looks fucking ugly" and i'd take his advice 100% and not be mad. lol love this dude
Damn, what did they do to the classy lobby! The Blue carpet bah! It was so chique, now it looks like a budget hotel! This resort needs style not this cheap stuff!
Hey I’m Zach! I’m a server at ale and compass for dinner service. I would love for you to come in for dinner and allow me to take care of you!! I think you’d be pleasantly surprised with the location for dinner!!
Unbelievable, a giant empty space that serves subpar food. How do places like this stay open? People have been conditioned to pay outrageous prices for crap food, that’s how
I am offended at $40 a person for lunch! Especially for food that is meh!!!!! Disney is charging enough for admission, hotels, food... At what point do we hold them accountable?!?!?!
Had lunch there a couple months ago and it was disgusting, I had the grilled cheese and soup and I should have just gone to woodys lunch box because that was better, the soup tasted like marinara from a jar and my grilled cheese tasted like it had been sitting too, seems too wishy washy quality wise
"nothing exceptional", "hot tomato sauce", "unseasoned red sauce" but you still can't complain about it being 17$?? That doesn't sound impressive to me for that much.
We recently went and the service was horrific. We had to wait at least 15 minutes just for a server to come and take our drink order. I ordered the chowder which was decent. However, i had the pot pie for my entree, which seemed to be the same chowder I just had as a starter, in the pie crust. Not a fan of this restaurant.
