@@baked_alaska Following your logic, where are all the Asian artists singing in languages other than their mother tongue in the press? Artists from Asian backgrounds need to provide double the proof to break into the industry, because of something they were born with. And here we have Alec Benjamin singing in broken Chinese with praises before having more Asian artists on Western media :)
It's Chinese in the same way an apple is a fruit. He could be more specific but he isn't wrong. 中文 does translate to Chinese, 汉语 to Mandarin and 粤语 to Cantonese.
