I lost my 15 yr old son in 2017. The other day a young man came up to me at a gas station and asked "Are you Joseph's dad"? Taken aback for a second I replied "yes, yes I am". He went on to say he and my son were friends in school and that Joe was a good friend to him. It choked me up and I managed to say thank you shake his hand and leave getting into my truck before loosing it. Driving home I thought about that interaction with that young man and my son. Joseph my son will forever be 15 yr old to me. He won't ever grow into a young man, a husband, a father. He'll never age. He'll always be my 15 yr old son. You never get over it, you learn how to deal with HIS loss of life, how to manage emotions in times such as the interaction with a grown friend of his. Sometimes you can't manage it and that's ok. Tears just water memories of someone you love.❤CJMS✝️

I fear loosing my 22yr old all the time. I try to give him guidance, but he tells me i don't understand. Things are different than when I grew up. He says he wished he had come up in the 80s like me. He loves those movies and the music. Says people actually had to talk to each other and not text, etc. The internet was a blessing, but more of a social curse. He tells me girls are much different now as well. They just care about likes, followers, and money. Even though they don't have it themselves, a guy must have it. And must be popular on social media. What priorities huh? He says the nice guys get ran over, and the fk boys are chased after. What a generation. He's very much a romantic like I was. He's very talented and charismatic. He looks, and sounds like Curt Cobain, but hates being compared to him. But he idiolizes him just the same. Won't talk to girls much, but on stage he's fearless. I pray he finds a good one and figures things out. But he has dark thoughts sometimes, and that's why I worry. Says he won't make it past 27. I hope he's wrong. I tell him it can't rain all the time, the sun always comes back out. He's my only child, and I'm scared to death of loosing him. I know I wouldn't be far behind. I'm so sorry for your loss. About a week ago I lost my tiny sweet potato, Eddie. He was a skinny pig and the goofiest looking little guy. People used to find it funny to call him ugly but to me, he was the most beautiful little boy I could’ve asked for. Nobody really knows just how much the little guys helped me as a kid who was homeschooled. I didn’t have people to turn to so I turned to him. I loved him from day one, he’d fallen asleep while I was holding him and it was the first time he’d done that to anyone that’d held him. As he fell asleep in my arms one last time I reflected on how much things had changed and how resilient my love for him was as the years went by. I really do think about him all of the time and as his “mother”, I hope I gave him a happy life.

My mom recently died in a plane crash on her way back home from visiting family in England I still miss the memories I had with her and my family but before she left she left a note stating how she would bring us sweets and hugs and kisses when she got home I was glad to hear all that but now I live with my dad, my 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. It’s weird bc I think about a certain girl that’s not in my life like she used to be, but sometimes I listen and think about my brother that passed from an overdose. I felt as broken as he sounds in this song when both happened and I really wasn’t ready for either. The thing is me and the girl I was talking about were never together, I had my chance when we were younger now I’m her “brother” and when she was telling me about a guy she could tell I was bothered and it seems like she’s avoided me ever since, even if it’s just as a friend I need her in my life.

I think about my mom when I listen to this. Who she used to be, a teen mom just trying to survive with her kid. How she cared so much for me, how she felt like my mom. Like someone i could talk to, someone who was there when i cried. Now she feels like a stranger. i don't see my mom anymore, i see someone destorying themselves, in a horrible relationship, in a horrible job. smoking so much and drinking to shove it down until she can't feel it. Refusing any help because she can't admit she needs it. Someone who doesn't love me anymore, at least, she can't show it anymore. She treats me so differently then my siblings. Maybe because I was first. idk, I know she doesn't want me around her anymore. One day I'll drift away from her, leave her to be, I don't think she'd care if I disappeared one night. I miss my mom.

Life’s tough sounds to me like the struggles of life have finally worn your mom down. And to be honest she probably does have some resentment towards you. But as a parent I can tell you it’s not something she’s actively doing more of a subconscious. Your mom still loves you as you once felt it. But she needs time and care. She needs therapy. I hope you find the comfort that you need.
