Someone finally shows a picture of a back panel. The back panel is important. It tells you if you upgrade to a three pedal unit and what kind you will need. I like the headphone jack in front.

im thinking about doing it too. been inspired by piano/electric piano but only have these synth and semi weighted controllers. think im missing out on the juice.
Today i compared this piano with roland fp-10 and found that roland feels so much better to me. With Alesis the keys often sound either too quiet or unexpectedly loud. While with roland it sounds according to the pressure - yes, you can "underpress" a key, but it will still be well enough heard. The guy in the shop explained to me that Alesis has only 3 levels of volume. And for me it felt like the levels are somewhat like 1, 3 and 10 - basically there is a huge gap between middle and high, so if you want to play on the middle volume but accidentally push harder on one of the keys, it will be very noticeable. On Roland on the other hand it is much more levels. And if you play with middle exertion you will get volumes on 4, 6, 8 and there will be no such dramatic jumps as with Alesis. I tend to think i should better buy Roland, although it is like 25% more expensive.
The Alesis Prestige Artist is an upgrade and I was able to determine that it has a volume control knob. Imagine that, a knob. It's so retro. Maybe this one change turns it into the simple, practical, economical entry level instrument of everyone's dream. Everyone who wants real piano emulation. My price ceiling in in the $500s. I put the ceiling there because my research showed that it has to be there if you want to use the instrument to learn piano.
The Recital Grand is the same piano as the Prestige, but is marketed through Amazon. Much like the Yamaha P-71 is the P-45, but the 71 is Amazon's version of the 45.
