right? thats really obscure to many. so they unknowingly wear it on their necklaces, wrap it over their third eye in their rituals, put it on a national flag or just straight walk around it.
I think the coolest part of this song is its massive scale. They're not just going to fight an enemy or to find a treasure: they're embarking on a quest to liberate humanity from ignorance. But I love that they're still pirates at heart, so "taste enlightenment" is sung in the same tone as they would have sung something like "taste my blade"
waaaaaait a second. i discovered alestorm 3 days ago. ive been listening to NGBTS non stop. it instantly became one of my favorite albums (ive been listening to all kinds of metal for 27 years) today i started looking at the lyrics (english isn't my first language) and boom, song about scientism and freaking beast system. god i love them so much....
This is one of my favorite songs by them. Along with "Chomp Chomp." I'll suggest another great pirate band for you: Storm Seeker. One of their former members actually performed with Alestorm last year.
With the fallen [pieces of] eight, the dying century, of the age of darkness. The sky has the way through the Elysian fields... a part of our nature die. We honor the truth, with the codex we see our way through the endless night, With mountains we ride, we fall with the sentinels, into the storm! We feel cold in revolution, fighting the fraudulent gods, nobody knows the aims into the unknown, across into the celestial barge... We hold the cup of destiny, as all araise.
