Why so serious (black)? And in general, I don't entirely know if the lore behind gloryhammer existed or was created for the band but the music is phenomenal even if the subject is silly sometimes, so is alestorm, some of the music is a musical adventure, like death thrones of the terror squid, a freaking somewhat blackened pirate heavy metal, and in the end who the fudge cares about genres and definitions? All we want is good music and even in this song which is a far stretch from metal (a freaking Caribbean rap theme with elements of heavy metal) is still a good song if you are not obsessed with the idea of "what is metal" or "what is good music", just live through music....

FK once i met him on festival with Alestorm he was fucked already from that alcohol and when i met him second time on smaller festival, he was there with Gloryhammer but siting by himself. I genuinely think these guys are just geniuses. They manage to make a catchy song every fucking time and they always sound alike WHILE having this little thing that make them all different. Somehow they know hos to rearrange their music while staying true to themselves and I think that is is great.

I wasn't a massive fan of Treasure Chest Party Quest at first but after 3 or 4 listens i really like it. I really wasn't a fan of this at first, but after afew listens its actually growing on me. It looks like this will be an album of songs that will grow on you while you adjust to there new style. Abit side swiped by what i've heard so far and i'm not sure if its there best sound but still liking it. still going to buy this album.

I love how by association I started listening to Rumahoy because Captain Yarrface is on this track, and I still have no real idea where Rumahoy is from, but I know they have goblin friends who drink ale with them, and that's really all I need.

As a satire on the kind of music that you normally hear in the clubs, this works actually very well. The production of it... and the attention to detail when it comes to the cliches of that sort of music and how they then ridicule them... It's a lot more clever than you'd imagine :-)

honestly, Yarrface's part was the strongest. If he isn't gonna start rapping most of Rumahoy's future songs, that's a missed opportunity! MDB with pirates, what could be finer?
