yes, I just like higher kv motors, most people are running around 1700kv or less on 7inch, at the end of the day it doesn't matter - if I fly at 30% throttle then my efficiency might be same as someone flying 1400kv at 70% throttle, for same speed & flight time. And I don't get mid-throttle oscillations when I stay below 50% throttle.

I'll be 100+ years old by the time the ice melts 😆

hmm, that's difficult to tell, might be different for different people, my best guess would be 100 hours of practice and if you are the "Xbox" and "Playstation" generation then probably much less time. this quad can travel at close to 200km/h but in this video the top speed was around 120km/h

thank you. until BF 4.1 was released recently I considered 3.5.7 to be best for my needs (BF 4.0 was not exactly ideal), the RPM filter on BF 4.1 is apparently magic and that's the version I should be running if I had a time to tune it, but I'm currently traveling and don't want to touch what's working for me. in regards to kv of my motors - everybody has different preferences, most pilots prefer lower kv motors on 7inch setups, for me 1500kv would be too low even when running on 6S, I just prefer performance orientated setup even at the cost of efficiency. it also depends where you want to fly, if you fly in the mountains then it's better to have more responsive (higher kv) drivetrain to fight wing gusts and turbulences.

well, I took the gondola to Bettmerhorn and then walked to viewing platform about 200m, but there were too many people so I actually continued to walk down and then followed a walking path further North so I don't know exact location where I took off but it was along that walking path. the viewing platform would have been easier for landing and to locate through goggles when returning back, because where I was standing I was having problems to find my launch spot to land.

thanks. Chamois (the mountain goat) they are so well camouflaged it's hard to notice even on the HD footage

These are not goats these are chamois, and probably the reason why there is a "Jagdbanngebiet" witch means hunting free area and these areas are non drone flying zones. They say they should not be driven in autumn/winter, because winters are hard up there and not a lot of food, so these guys must preserve energy to survive. I'm not picking on the OP, the video is beautifull, I just think it might be interesting to know. I was born in that area and I'm always tempted to fly there but didn't dare yet.

@@DONTBLINK 👌thanks for all the interesting info here. I was always wondering what they eat in winter when the grass is gone, and in Aletsch there aren't many conifers to pick from either. I didn't realise this was no fly zone, now I know. quite a lot of visitors with drones, they should really place some signs up there with this information.

@@bobeshoz 95 % of your flight was not in the actual no fly zone, the glacier itself is fine, its the right side along the glacier, how I said, I'm not flaming or anything its just an info, I also like your Matterhorn video big time. the battery is 6S1P so only 6 cells, I use Molicel P42A cells. I'm cruising around +/-20A, this battery can handle continuous draw of 30-40A and I've been over 50A for more than 10secs, battery handled it fine.

@@bobeshoz I'll try molicel p42A, I found it in several stores they state 4000mah not 4200. now I'm using VTC6 18650 30A 3000mah, 5s Hope that with New battery Will have more flight time and more power. You use a high kv motors 2150 its interesting what flight time you have? I use 1450kv :)

@@idzhukelov yes some stores rate it 4000mah, other stores and manufacturer rate it 4200mah, it doesn't matter, I normally land when my voltage drops just below 3V per cell and by that time I only used +/- 3600mah. if I pushed it down to 2.5V then I would likely used close to 4000mah but I don't fly to 2.5V. flying in the mountains with big elevation changes I get up to 15mins flight time, but I'm sure if I fly "normal" and easy it would be possible to get to 20 minutes. my quad is very heavy - 1100g with the GoPro and the battery.
