Same thought, I like her too, she's so cute and a nice Character in this season and then her heart was broken by Alex. I was like "Why you give her hope and at the end you choose Piper, I know they wanted to be married but Piper could have Zelda.." yk what I mean 😂
I don't blame McCullough for falling in love of Alex, I mean who wouldn't? But I do blame Alex for giving her hope in a potential relationship when she hadn't feelings
@@apples8872 She regrets it fast and let Alex the choice to keep doing it. For the transfer I was a little annoyed eventhough I don't thing it's the worst thing. Prison in Ohio or prison in NY, kinda the same shit. It allows Piper to really think what she wants to do and who she chooses
@@kriss581 re: transfer, I get her; it's torture to see every day the person you love but who doesn't care about you, especially if she gave you hopes to begin with.
@john boss nah mate... The thing is she was just lonely and doesn't cope with the others that everything to her such hanging out and stuff like that are new to her not to mention that she got blamed cause she didn't know that she was the fun killer
This relationship started with McCullough forcing Alex to sell for her, and ended with her transforming Alex when she said no. I don't understand the sympathy some have for her, she's no victim. But it was an amazing and complicated storyline. I loved this series too much i still come back.
Yeah McCullough is very toxic and unstable. I can understand her wanting to transfer Alex, but uprooting someone's entire life just because of your feelings is incredibly selfish and very likely a part of the reason is to spite Alex and Piper and pull them apart. Given the fact that she was actually mental enough to go to Piper's place and try to confront her about leaving Alex alone... McCullough just isn't all there in the head and it shows. People just love toxic relationships and misery I guess... I mean...I can sympathize with her at least a little because of her obvious PTSD, but a lot of the stuff she does here is just unacceptable.
Of all the characters on this show to feel some sympathy for people could do a lot worse than McCullough! Considering most others are convicted prisoners!
It's simple the goalkeeper played? She burned herself, we don't fall into homosexuality without danger!!! It must be said that a heterosexual who rocks with a lesbian signs her death warrant, so to speak!!!
calliou idk uh after all piper did not only to Alex but the rest of the inmates... ima say no. Plus this guard/prisoner ‘relationship’ was more exciting.
because it is lol as a guard shes in a position of power, this relationship is inappropriate and illegal. feelings are involved. it sucks, because they have a little chemistry. I see the feelings happening more on Mccolloughs side though
i really love that scene with cigarette burn and the hug. it feels painful but hopeful because love can make us feel alive when other things are so fucked up
Aw, I feel so bad for McCullough. She was finally starting to see some light in the end of the tunnel with Alex, after all she'd been through and then Alex essentially screwed her over. If Alex at least hadn't gotten her hopes up by indicating that she reciprocated her feelings, then it wouldn't have been as bad. Also, McCullough had this adorable streak of innocence and naivité. I just want to take care of her.
@efawe wekfow “shut up” isn’t a nice way of stating your point of view. I don’t think that “there are prison guards who were much worse than mccullough. She was sexually abused and has PTSD“ is in any way a justification for her behavior. Yeah it‘s possibly an explanation. But just because you are traumatized you‘re not automatically justified to act on whatever you feel like doing. e.g. You‘re not gonna kill a stranger on the street & tell the judge that your action was okay because there already were people who killed more strangers than you. The fact that you‘ve got trauma doesn‘t change a thing. Felt bad for her in the beginning but completely lost my sympathy for her when she actually showed up at Pipers house to spread lies. You can have trauma and still have enough human decency to not do that.
alex is an INMATE. regardless of her past traumatic experience, Mccollough is in position if power as a guard. what did she expect? her and Alex riding off into the sunset in 4 more years? not to mention it would eventually get out, she would no longer be taken seriously as a guard. it's all types of fucked up
Yeah, however one looks at it, the power assymetry makes the whole thing pretty much rape. (Even if Alex pursued McCollough. I do applaud Kohan for presenting the whole thing in such a way that one cannot help but feel for McCollough given her situation. She is wrong. But she's still human. And humans are complicated, we can be good, but still mess up and have to pay for misdemeanors and crimes.
Alex had fun to forget his love, without taking into account that the babysitter was getting attached! It's cow from Alex, but it's a she-wolf she devours the lambs! Something we all do in prison with heterosexuals!!!
I blame them both honestly. Idk what McCullough really expected.. Alex was MARRIED. Prison married sure, but even than McCullough was a guard on the show for what..3 seasons?? And alex never glanced her way so she kind of should have known Alex was just lonely. Not to say Alex was right..she definitely should have told her upfront, but in the end..they had no future anyway. Even if Alex left Piper fully, they always find their way back to another.
They were technically engaged.. well "prison" engaged when alex broke up with piper, piper asked her "what about our marriage?" And alex said like "oh come on you know that whole thing wasn't real"
@@115Stardust honestly I have never had a celebrity crush before. But her character and story, it's just triggering all my boxes. My caretaking instincts kick in when I see her alone like that, she is beautiful, she is in pain but still trying to be strong but she doesn't know how. I almost can't wait to just be there for her and have long talks about her emotions and really bond and than slowly something romantic starts sparkling. But that's all fantasy of course.
Me too! Unexpectedly! Lol. I think that episode when the prisoners made them all undressed kinda sparked something in me then it was season 7 that made me have a huge crush on her. THEN I found out she's dating 'daddy' in real life & my head exploded! 😍😍😍
I know they use each other to survive in the prison. Alex always messes up everything before it loses control to protect herself. That’s what she is. She really loves Piper. Even through it is easier for Piper to leave when life is hard.
Alex had fun to forget his love, without taking into account that the babysitter was getting attached! It's cow from Alex, but it's a she-wolf she devours the lambs! Something we all do in prison with heterosexuals!!!
It didn’t really sound like Vause had no feelings for McCullough. I think there was more going on between these 2 but Alex was not ready to lose Piper. The ending made sense to me. I shipped Zelda and Piper a crazy lot as well lol!
I don't think she had feelings for her, she hooked up with her bcoz she felt insecure. The explanation she gave piper for sleeping with McCullough made sense. She only sleep wit her whenever she is unable to get a hold of piper. Example when she call Piper and she doesn't pick , then her mind starts to wander, thinking the worse, she *fuck McCullough to feel better. She was only using her, most times Alex was rude to her.
I have to agree with Puda. I did think at the time that Alex felt compassion and started to grow some romantic/platonic feelings. I do think she first pursue the fling because she felt insecure, but I don't think that was the whole reason.
I think Alex was attracted to her sure, but I don't think she had feelings for her per se.... Alex was attracted to McCullough and Nicky during season 1, but honestly Alex was pretty committed to Piper. Probably more than Piper was ever committed to her, even though I do think that she really does love her. I really don't see any chemistry here regardless.
Y'all are mad at Alex for getting McCullough's hopes up and then ending it and playing with her feelings. But what was she supposed to do? You do what you can to survive prison. Also, McCullough literally went to Piper's house like a damn psycho. She came on way too strong and just did not know how to navigate a relationship. I get she has problems but Alex isnt to blame here.
Totally agree. No passion, it was awkward and bland. I guess that makes sense though since one side didn't reciprocate feelings. It definitely came through in the performance.
I liked them together but the series didn't give their relationship enough time. Though I'm glad Piper went back to Alex, I would have liked to have seen where this went with McC.
i honestly don't know why everyone was so nice to mccullough? she forced alex to sell for herself at the first place and also she knew that they were both married and alex cared a lot about her wife so like why she was so excited about her and alex being a real thing? it may be personal but who knows lol
ruby it was just Alex being vulnerable and afraid that she was losing Piper so she used McCullough as her rebound but of course someone always catches feelings and the guard got her hopes up thinking that Alex would actually leave Piper for her. She knew what she was getting herself into, she knew Alex was already married, what she did was very unprofessional sleeping with an inmate. Now she wants to hurt Alex chances more with Piper by shipping her away bc she rejected her? McCullough got exactly what she deserved. She’s clearly mentally unstable herself.
Thank you, I was surprised to see all the praise McCullough got. I felt bad that she has PTSD from being in the military and the riot. But to me it didn't mean she had the right to do these things she did. She may have not been as brutal as Hellman but she still forced Alex to sell for her. And then claimed to be one of the good ones. In comparison to a handful yea, but she lost that title when she forced Alex to sell and tried to ruin her relationship with Piper.
McCullough was so deeply in love with Alex that she had to appeal to warden for Alex's transfer to another prison. She just can't see her face everyday. It would've broken her. This is pain of unrequited love 😭
Not here to say wether I agree, disagree, like, dislike, love or hate their relationship or whatever. I just wanted to say that the scene starting at 18:20 was beautiful.. PTSD can fuck someone up badly and said person know it's irrational fear but that doesn't make it go away.. I have experienced PTSD indirectly up close. Someone very dear to me and it SUCKS how they feel and it SUCKS that you can't always help them.. What Alex did there, closing McCullough arms for a new hug after the first one hurt her and just being there listening to her talking.. That in itself was beautiful, nothing more and nothing less..
She’s fucking cute I like McCullough her story is amazing she was ruined because of toxic masculinity despite her efforts to befriend her male colleagues I feel her
I actually felt so bad for McCullough Alex knew how fragile she was and she just does that to her no bloody way omd I spent all night up fucking watching it see if they get together and this is the shit I get NO FUCKING WAY
I love Alex & Piper together so much that I automatically hate any other woman who comes between them in some way in their storyline. But, idk why, I love McCullough & Alex together Lol I ship them like crazy & was a little hurt when their storyline ended. I still rather have Alex & Piper together, they belong together, but idk I was really enjoying these two together. It’s honestly probably because of my deep
To me, their relationship is much like Nicky and Lorna's. Something that could have been amazing but the writers just failed to put it into place. Decided Piper and Alex were the one true couple even though it was just horrifically toxic and boring
I am 61 years old I live in Litchfield Michigan and I love the show I thought you guys are great thank you for putting doing it cuz it was good I think sometimes to talk people stuff too you know and someone that it's not all cracked up to be in prison but but you guys did a great job and thank you
At first, I hated this relationship because of Vauseman but then I realized it made sense, Alex being afraid Piper was already seeing someone else outside (which was true) and trying to protect herself as she said to Piper. Kind of feel bad for McCullough thou because she really fell for Alex
18:50 is the scene I really thought Alex would finally find someone that made her happy, that she didn't have to use to get what she wanted, and not be with someone because of guilt or trying to make things right. Someone she got to be with just because she wanted to. Then when Alex and McCullough have their fallout, it showed that Alex can't let go out her old habits and loses another person in her life.
Even though I think this was really hot... and they both kinda used each other. This is sexual harassment because one of them is in a much higher position of power. Interesting to see McCullough going from being a victim in her army flashbacks to being the offender here. P. S. I knew from the first scene where Alex and Nikki were checking out her tinder profile that this was going to be a thing.
I feel exactly the same way. But it's also kinda on Alex because she made her feel like this could be a thing when. She gave her hope which she shouldn't have done. And I knew that McCullough was gay the moment she got introduced (the "not interested in men" gave it away skkskssk ...and later the fact that the actress who plays her is dating the actress that played Daddy)
