Sending emails to someone isn't stalking, they can be blocked and filtered. Challenging corruption isn't stalking either. He wanted to sue Nottingham police because they unlawfully entered his home on multiple occasions without a warrant. The sentence was to silence him from his critical journalism. It's amazing how you think you're an expert when you obviously didn't watch his channel.

@Honor I've had a few stalkers during my life...part of it due to my previous jobs as they were out there and public. When I was 16 it was very scary. There was a big sexual component to that and the police wouldn't help and I didn't have family support for it. Other times were extremely sinister. In my 30s I had a stalker that was so intense they somehow followed me to a hospital appointment. As I was sat in the consulting room with the hospital consultant we were talking and I saw the stalker passing back and forth outside the window! When I went back to the reception area he was sat there. I wasn't scared (they'd even been hanging out in the woods at the back of my house watching me) and so I asked, "What is it you want? Let's talk." Within the hospital grounds we talked. It stopped him...but it was all rather sad really.

Surely this video is unethical? The Royal College of Psychiatrists (the main professional organisation of psychiatrists in the UK) has stated ...."The Royal College of Psychiatrists strongly supports the “Goldwater Rule” and adhering to it is important as part of maintaining confidence in the profession." The Goldwater Rule (USA) states . . ."Psychiatrists should never provide professional opinions in the media about public figures they have not personally examined." It seems to me, that's exactly what's going on here, no?

Thank you for this analysis. Its answered many of my questions. I have been following AB very closely as like many I found some of his content very enthralling and at times amusing. I also have had some issues with the BBC not telling the truth (long story for another day) so anyone who threatened to sue and whistleblow the Beeb had my attention. However, it was during one of his Sunday night phone ins that a gentleman had called in and basically as a recent widower now left with young children to bring up he was find it hard and was enjoying having the seemingly empathic shoulder of AB to cry on. And AB performed that perfectly. it was a heart wrenching call and very powerful. To try and cheer this distraught caller up AB offered this man free tickets to one of his Blackpool shows and the man was very grateful and humbly accepted. Then out of the blue AB's face and his tone changed and - bearing in mind this man was grieving terribly over the recent loss of his wife - AB suggested he could fit the man up with a prostitute using in his usual cheeky "slip her a portion' style VOR smut that worked great on other occasions. But definitely not here. And it just curve-balled the widower and made him more upset. And stunned him into silence. It was at the very point, as AB took a sip of his vodka and cola, he had such an evil 'twinkle' in his eye and sneer on his face I realised he was relishing not only this caller's pain but the fact he'd lured him in with false niceties only to smash him down and humiliate this man with AB alluding that due to his wife's tragic early death his sex life was now non-existent. Attacking him at his lowest ebb. It was at that moment I began to get suspicious of AB. My suspicions were proven to be valid.
@carolinedeed3774
@carolinedeed3774 Год назад
Totally agree. I used to listen to his shows during lockdown and thought AB was a breath of fresh air, but slowly I realised not only did he like the sound of his own voice, he enjoyed shooting people down with his misogynistic tones which made me cringe. Then when he moved from YT to another platform, asking for a subscription to be paid I smelled a rat so unfollowed him. Vile man.

I subscribed to his RU-vid channel a couple of years ago. A lot of his video’s on WTF is going on today in the U.K. resonated with me. However I switched off the rant videos he made regarding the perceived wrongdoing towards him by various colleagues he’d worked with at the bbc. In recent times I totally stopped watching his RU-vid content because it was seemingly becoming psychologically unhinged… Then I read the sentencing remarks from Justice Saini. Very recently a RU-vidr named Adrian Allen has put out content regarding his own professional and personal dealings with Alex Belfield and it all paints a picture of a very narcissistic, self loathing, damaged and vengeance oriented man. There is a whole lot of tea to be spilt regarding this case in the very near future.

Characters like AB and his onstage sidekick KH fascinate me from a viewpoint that they are so lacking in self awareness they don't know when to stop - i.e they ALWAYS go too far in their vindictive or extreme viewpoint endeavours. That means, they become niche, out of the mainstream and ironically less successful than they would like to be (or believe they are). Which is what fascinates me. Their absolute arrogance/condescension/superiority character flaws which made them stand out originally, become their absolute downfall. And that, is why people like them will always end up on the fringes of society, because they are extreme in output. They try their best to appear reasonable, but it's all an act. They are full of self loathing and project that onto others. It's not clowning or entertaining, but sinister and disturbing to be like AB. A loathsome character but quite fascinating as a case study in psychopathy. Manipulative to the end.

I came across Belfield by accident on RU-vid. Maybe I came in late 'but' I genuinely believed he was suing the BBC and Nottingham police, I had no idea he was the defendent. I sent him money (a small amount) via PayPal after seeing Nottingham police turn up on his doorstep, I was under the impression the BBC and a particular BBC lawyer along with Nottingham police were in Cahoots against Belfield. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I realized I was contributing to a stalkers defence fund. I only found out he was the defendent and not the plaintiff after his first day in court. I contributed to the defence of a convicted stalker? On the upside, Belfield has taught me a very valuable lesson, never again will I willingly give money to any 'go fund me' campaign unless I personally know the individual well. I thought it rather strange that he took two holidays before the trial, but put that down to his go fund me campaign had given him peace of mind and lifted his spirits. I mean, taking on the BBC and Nottingham police wouldn't come cheaply, therefore he'd need the holidays before the gruelling trial began. In all honesty I couldn't abide Belfield and his ridiculously unfunny impersonations, but I admired his stance for taking on the establishment, or so I thought. We live and learn!

An excellent informative video! There are a few things puzzle me about Bellfield's conviction. (a) I wonder what triggered his animosity against those he stalked. It is quite clear in the case of the BBC; he was annoyed at being sacked but in the case of Ben Hewis it is claimed he didn't know him and had never met him, so did Hewis say or do something that initiated Bellfield's response? (b) Iain Lee, a radio presenter, claims he was also stalked by Bellfield and says he doesn't know why. I find that difficult to believe especially as he also says "victims" should not be questioned about why they have been stalked. I think that should be a fundamental question and now he's trying to make money from patrons by drip-feeding stories of his stalking experience and unbeliveably inviting other victims to contribute their expriences (c) I understand the police arrested him on a number of occasions, broke down his door and seized his computer, yet no charges were made. I feel there a lot more to this story than meets the eye.
@matthewb9621
@matthewb9621 Год назад
What supposedly triggered him was losing his job at the BBC. He claimed he left on his own accord, but he was sacked. He had issues within the BBC, but he didn't really have the money to do anything about it. Rightly or wrongly. He went bankrupt after he was sacked. So anybody he felt hindered him in his career he had negativity towards. He didn't actually work for any newspaper, but was freelance. That work seemed to have dried up So he was on JSA and living with his mum for a while. This has had to have triggered him somehow. At this time it seems he became a functional alcoholic....and that can't have helped his mental state. This is when I started watching Alex...he decided to turn into a popular commentator. Ignoring what he actually felt. Ignoring his hatred for asking for money and doing everything he could do to gain money....money he lied about the purpose for. Then there is his latent homosexuality (apparently) the judge said Alex was part of the LGBTQ community. So there might have been a little bit of sexual tension between Alex and Iain (Iain has had destructive relationships with men,) Listen when Alex called Iain in his phone in.
@matthewb9621
@matthewb9621 Год назад

It sickens me also the arbitrary shite that is the law. My mother was beaten to within an inch of her life weekly at the hands of my undiagnosed and unfettered psychopath father for 17 years. At 10 years of age I mustered up the courage in the midst of a violent outburst that landed my mother on the hall floor with blood coming from her mouth and eyes from the shovel he had smacked into her belly, to run to the neighbors to finally call the police. Three of them arrived, stepped over my mother and my father told the Sargent if my mother left with we three kids there they would have "4 dead bodies" to deal with. The Sargent simply told my father to chill out and calm down and they all left the house. SCOTT FREE. My father is still alive today having slowly been allowed to legally murder my mother with violence stalking and poverty over a 43 year period, even after she 'escaped' the family home. He taunted her for the rest of her days. In my twenties I was stalked by an ex for two years. Cost me my job, many friends, my home and my sanity. I had 27 witness statements, and a police officer who toiled on my behalf for those two years. When it came to my day in court - half my body weight from stress and shaking from head to foot - a bitter angry Judge shouted at me to stand up in front of the entire public court room and upon tilting his glasses to condescend in what could be described to be a punitive disdain, to ask if I ought to be seeking to ruin this man's life with these accusations. His words were "So this young man wants to go travelling to the US - Do you want to put a stop to his future? What do YOU want to do with him?" I was 28 years old and broken. I had spent 2 years going through all the right channels to have this guy stopped. Why was I being singled out and humiliated and reprimanded ??? Needless to say I froze in terror and mumbled something to the effect of 'Well no of course I don't want to ruin anyone's life...." I didn't get any further - was told to sit back down and the stalker was reprimanded with a few words til the Judge moved on to the next case. SCOTT FREE. The police officer working on my behalf was 26 years old. Not long fully qualified. He cried outside the courts -"This is not what I signed up for" he said. He left the police force not long after. The legal game is possibly the most revolting game of all of the games of our poisonous culture! How law and justice are words often grouped together is beyond me. Ne'er that twain shall meet EVER I'm afraid. I don't for one second condone what Belfield did - in fact it's disgusting either way and I believe by all accounts he needed to be prevented from taunting people any further. But look at the grandstanding of it all. He'll do 5 years but my father and my stalker were given pats on the back for crimes that outweigh this man's by a hundred country miles! Rant over - for now!

Even early on Belfield had a nasty streak about him, I mean the whole reason the BBC fired him was because he made a sexually inappropriate remark at a weather reporter (which went well beyond simple humour). When he got on the internet his racist, sexist, homophobic and just about every phobic comments he made almost seem like satire. I don't know if it was the way he was brought up but there is something very wrong in that head of his. Also even after he apologised he still fed his viewers his version of events until the bitter end and after that end came his last video was the most arse kissery tribute I have ever seen in my life, and sadly there are people who still buy it.

When plane's would fly over she would communicate to Englebert through her ring. On the front window of her home. S.O.S. Englebert was soaped in huge letters. Of course she was the subject of much talk. Obviously mental health was involved. Pretty sad.

I watched Alex on many occasions and he evidenced where all the go fund me was spent, his holidays and furnishings was down to his success with his RU-vid channel and VOR. Yes he was pissed off with those he spoke about but what he spoke about he gave his opinion, he had personal opinions on thousands of subjects and as far as I could see was using free speech and discussion, a narcissist wouldn’t welcome others views or opinions, it’s their way only, he is a charmer and very confident and sometimes very funny but that doesn’t equate to a narcissistic psychopath. Hopefully the ‘victims’ can move on after they’ve discussed it on tv and given multiple press releases after such trauma that was caused to them.

An informative and interesting video. I feel so very disappointed and let down. I started following Alex when controversy around the jab kicked off at the start of the pandemic. It was very easy to get the news from him and he represented a wholer view on such stories in comparison to the blinkered approach of MSM. He also brought great comfort (the irony) where I felt the fearmongering from MSM was rife. He seemed to be able to stand back and see such things very objectively, anything from the vaccine to the most recent scaremongering of the soaring utility bills. He turned out to be right about those too, whilst MSM were peddling the fear of a rise to about 6K, he held strong and assuaged people's anxiety by saying not to get too swept away by the main narrative, as he believed Truss would come up with a package to help us, which indeed did happen as an example. So for me, it was a very practical way of getting a broader perspective of the news all in one place and I loved that. Yes, I found him odd and distasteful at times but I was so focused on the news items that I didn't think twice about anything else. People who have questioned the mainstream narrative throughout all of this pandemic, have stood up for those who have been terribly injured and worse died after the vaccine, have questioned the increasing loss of freedoms from the WEF for example, and many more such things, I feel appreciated that Alex would discuss such matters. Such people have risked so much to question narratives on our own accounts etc. And now I feel so very sad, that someone who was able to present a broader viewpoint so eloquently has badly let the side down. I feel very low about that. I didn't really pay attention to the case stuff and to be honest didn't really take notice of it as I was focused on the news commentary. However, after watching a couple of Ian Lee videos yesterday and this morning it was an unpleasant shock. Once more I feel so saddened and let down as a watcher of Alex's vids. I pray his victims will heal well and that Alex will have the iron will he may need to make a positive turnaround.

As you explained these women were the 2nd on your list) 'as resentfull/revengefall stalker's'.After the last phone call via another man they enlisted,I taped his call,(and I told him I was taping him) rang the police,went to a solicitor,who in turn wrote a letter threatening them with court if they didn't desist.I never ever got another call or was ever followed again.Both these women were cowards,So if anyone thinks that a woman can't be stalked by other women, then think again.

In Two minds as mmm, hard to hearing his side of the story, so May be theme for future. Probably will get reduced sentence. I really struggle to see him as a stalker in anyway Out of what was reported to be thousands of emails it was less than 200 over a 10 years time span And then only 29 where submissible in court The emails were sent to the legal department and all the correct units within the BBC but not to people personally unless they responded to him personally He never went near anyone he never threaten anyone he just asked difficult questions The only time in 2 years I heard him tell his viewers to go after someone It was to call out to posters and pictures on buses ‘where did the thousand pounds go’. If people did do that it would be because they wanted to know Never once did I hear him encourage anybody go near somebody to threatening or to hurt He had grievances for sure and some of them probably really justified He lost this job and his income 10 years ago over a Rivalry. At that point perhaps he should have said ‘Pooh you’ But he felt it was unjust and wanted to prove that point He chose to go to court before a jury I don’t think he would’ve done that if he really thought he was doing something wrong He has no history and no minor complaints against him To me He doesn’t fit in any profile He just seems pretty pee’d off He’s been broken into twice by the police and once by the bomb squad, he has undergone a fairly invasive physical examination Let’s keep in mind also the same court and allegedly the same judge just the week before Alex’s trial gave somebody a two year good behaviour bond for stalking, presenting to a house up to 15 times a day and making quite serious threats against the Victim That’s who should have got 5.5years. It’s a concern that particular person is still walking around free. Im sure there are going to be some victims and families of victims, in other cases, who will not feel they got comparable justice I just see this as very political Edit: all the cases against women where thrown out with only the cases again the men maintained. Yet, not a divisive or political judgement ummm

I think this man's 'opinion' of Mr Belfield is just that and should only be seen that way, just like ALL our opinions. The only way this professional can really be sure of making a proper assessment is by way of an interview and that would be respected and accepted. Now MY opinion: I agree with you Ms Jeffries, Mr B is NOT a stalker. People who work in Showbiz in the Entertainment area always appear to be 'in control' of their audience and of course that is AN ACT they use. I do think Mr B had some issues relating to his justifiable outrage at being overlooked at the BBC when he was head and shoulders above other colleagues as a successful Radio broadcaster. Sadly when one internalises this 'feeling of being slighted,' and then sacked, without letting it go, or drawing a line and moving on, it will fester. Because of that, I do believe Mr B's thoughts became obsessive and his focus of attention was to 'get justice' for the wrongs done to him. This resulted in him sending many emails to the BBC complaining about staff he had worked with who he knew were 'not up to the job'. BBC security staff investigated these communications and determined (in emails) that Mr B posed NO THREAT at that time. This was part of the stitch-up > Those emails of support for Mr B were NOT seen by the Jury as that evidence was accepted by Prosecution/Defence as 'Statement of Fact'. I will suggest to ''The Psyche' (name ?) to look at the Legislation that covers Mr B's conviction and sentencing because it is this that determines in Law whether a 'line was crossed'. (PHA 1997). Remember NOT one of the 'alleged' victims took ANY action against Mr B contemporaneously. Years passed (apart from Mr Vine) before they decided to talk to the Police. The Police then 'harassed' and 'assaulted' Mr B which included a humiliating 'strip search' at the Station. There are many who like to 'play the victim' in all types of Criminal cases, from Family Courts to Civil Courts. One 'alleged' victim had stated he had thoughts of suicide, yet there were no statements from any Medical professional to substantiate his claim produced in Court. This was a case of 'who do you believe'. Of course everyone has some form of mental issue at some stage in their life, from depression through the spectrum outlined in DSM-5. I could write a few pages on this matter, but will stop now with this statement: 'There are hundreds of 'innocent' people convicted of harassment/stalking in the UK under this Legislation PHA 1997 < FACT

The Second Estate (police, doctors, psychiatrists, teachers, professors etc. who assist in perpetuating the current social conditions that privilege the ruling class). 3. The Third Estate, the common people. Right and wrong are all relative to the nature of the ruling class. For instance, now that Biden's Cabinet is no longer mostly white, but mostly brown, brown people running the border are given a free pass. 50 years ago they would have be expelled under the former white majority cabinets. Here we have a psychiatrist arguing for the current ruling class, as to why the common people should see Mr Belfield as a negative figure.

I think it's very interesting that he 'held a grudge' against those people for soooo many years, yet seemed to have lost interest in who phoned in the 'bomb threat' that resulted on the raid on his house. It's also curious that he stopped filming when the police broke down his back door (i suspect that they had been trying to get him to open the door for a considerable time, and he only started filming when their patience wore thin). If he was so squeaky clean, why didn't he just open the door?? When it comes to a terrorist act, such as a bomb threat, the police are quite efficient and will move swiftly. They will also have a good idea of the geographical location the call came from (be it landline or mobile). .........I wonder, when they raided him....what were they looking for?

Maybe it will come out during his trial when he appears in court to defend himself against DC Percival in her £100,000 lawsuit for deformation. His upcoming civil case where Jeremy Vine is suing him for £80,000 is also pending so the future don't look too good for him.

I won't be following him in future now he has been ousted and all those sticking up for him and copying his sayings if you condemn him are just as bad as he is .. what he did to the 4 victims for years was bang out of order and he was using his supporters to pile in on them to ... imagine if it was yourself who was being attacked by his masses it must have been horrific for them ..like he Iain Lee says he was terrified to confront him why he was at large and I'm sure many more will come out of the woodwork saying the same ..

The behaviour on display in this video is entirely unethical. This chap has made a range of statements in the video about Mr Belfield which are untrue, and has attempted to make out that Iain Lee was a 'victim' of Mr Belfield. Mr Lee was not one of the complainants in the case. in terms of making out that Mr Belfield fits any profile in relation to the five, ten, six hundred and sixty six, or whatever quack number you pull out of your ear, types of stalker when you have not been in the room with him to make a diagnosis, well that just makes you and your 'profession' look bad. It is quackery. Nothing more. Nothing less. Bluntly, this video appears to be nothing more than a lazy attempt to cash in.

I've been one of those who regularly watched his RU-vid broadcasts, and found them to be interesting, as well as being entertaining. I wasn't so much aware of the extent to which he may have been being repeatedly abusive to those whom he might not have best liked. From what I can understand, he never threatened anybody that he would wish to cause them any physical harm, nor did he seek out any of them to berate them over anything at all, in person. So I regard the fact of his having been handed down a five and a half year custodial sentence, for what he'd apparently done, to be a preposterous excessive sentence. Many convicted child molesters get shorter sentences than that, don't they ? Alex Bellfield certainely ought not to be languishing in prison. Release him NOW !

I really don't know how you can police stalking effectively, a restraining order is just paper, if you are serious about getting at someone to harm them, you will. Also stalkers hide behind 'free speech & until they have harmed someone, the penalties are so weak & no deterrent. So how do you stop a stalker, the frightening answer is, you can't.

Jeremy Vine is someone who it's hard to feel for. There is a lot of dislike for him (I appreciate that anyone reading this may have an entirely different opinion of him). The sentence does seem harsh. It's a shame as it needn't have gone that way and Alex could be free now, still growing his fanbase, and everyone would be happy. Years back a close friend of mine started stalking an actor. He's not well known but he did have the lead in a musical on stage in London. She would go as an audience member and was convinced he was talking to her privately while on stage and relaying messages that no one else could hear. It truly was disturbing to hear her talk about it. This was mental illness, not viciousness or something that was willed. 😞

No matter how you and many others are trying to justify Belfield's so called "guilt", although I'm sure he has a small measure of that, I'm appalled that anyone would think he deserved five and a half years in jail, especially when there are a multitude of predators out there who get far, far less punishment and so much more leniency. Alex Belfield was a journalist! I think this harsh sentence was designed more to shut other journalists up from criticising harshly and effectively gnawing away at freedom of speech. I used to think that the UK was a better country than the USA, but now I'm so disgusted by what's happening to the likes of Belfield and Assange, that I think you're no better. What a disgrace!
