This two hook Paternoster rig I designed myself many years ago. All of the other paternoster rigs you see are done with a loop which is fine but... because of the loop there is more for the fish to see. This rig is done with one single piece of line and the leaders are one single strand of line, no loops. The only disadvantage with my rig is that you cannot un loop a hook and put another on. It needs to be tied on. The definate advantage is it is far less for the often timid fish to see, no obvious loop. Therefore using my Bellissimo Paternioster rig will give you the added advantage. Once you have used my paternoster rig you will notice your catch rate increasing. I have taught thousands of clients, people this rig and they use this paternoster instead of the other types.

Just found this vid. Love the alternative for a paternoster! So simple and clean! I’ve been using the pool noodle way of storing rigs for years. I use a small nail though the swivel eyelet if there’s only a single hook. Works perfectly

Alex, I love this rig, but one day decided to use uni knots at the swivels instead of your basic blood knot. The traces kept tangling round the main line. I also wondered why the basic blood knot in these rigs only needed 4 or so twists and didn't slip when I hooked a fish. Then I realised: - blood knot tags naturally sit at right angles so use of that knot ensures the two traces sit out from the main line. - the traces in this rig are the TAG of the blood knot, so the knot won't slip from only 4 or so twists, because the TAG takes the strain, not the knot itself. What I want to know is, did you figure that out when designing this rig? If you did, you're a bloody legend.

Fantastic rig AL! Every other paternoster rig have seen uses more knots for droppers or more swivels and even more knots again ! I noticed you keep the droppers nice and short so they don’t flail around when casting and thanks for the tip with the pool worm (aka pool noodle ) to keep your rigs on ! I have been listening to your segments on the big fish podcast and really enjoying them ! Keep up the good work mate and please keep making videos !

Top one I always leave 40cm for sinker to first hook yours is better for the beach. Tight lines.

Fantastic whiting rig Alex but you forgot about the red tubing and beads more attractive to the fish they can see it better and the sinker should have swivels to stop line twists,,,,,,,not bad rig though 🐟 😉

Hi Alex, travelling from USA back to Brisbane in February. Will be fishing rainbow beach - what size hooks are you using? (sorry if I missed it during the video). I have three rigs ready with my piece of pool noodle just need to add the hooks. Thank you

I put my rigs in individual sandwich bags. Without the sinker. Sinker will tangle everything.

Yes a lot of people do the same but a rig spool works ok 👍

its me again , something a little different this time about the paternoster rig , have you ever targeted blackfish with the paternoster rig? someone was saying today that he was fishing a breakwall and a lot of the locals were using the paternoster rig with lots of weed on the hook , they were getting quite a few 40c blackfish with it , reason im asking is because i want to know a bit more about it such as do you strike or do you wait fot the fish to get hooked and pull the line , that sort of thing ,
