Anybody think the crowds are the best Trivium has ever had? They seem to be on the up. I think this is their most popular single ever. And still fits their REAL style (not like Until the world goes cold)
pinchharmonic this is their most popular but imo it’s not their best for their genre. This is just rock, not metal. Not bashing on Trivium at all I’m a big fan of them, but I don’t like this song.
WillBurhans yeah it’s def a pop-ish Rock/Metal song. That’s what you have to do to get 30 mil streams on Spotify these days. But at least they still play the hard stuff at shows alongside it.

Honestly, their radio rock singles are their worst songs. This song stands out in a bad way on the new album, but I doubt they will stop putting 1-2 mainstream hits on each record since they seem to be having so much success with it.
Alex is absolutely unbelievable talented and methodical. Between him and Matt Greiner those are easily my 2 favorite drummers. Alex is legit the reason I got back into trivium so heavy. Even though their old drummer was amazing too.
Awesome as ever - just so clean. All your live videos seem like they could have been a studio take. Crowd is amazing as well - I'd balls it up from the adrenaline in front of an audience like that!
On the last album, Heafy said that Alex came in and did many of the drum parts in a single take. This guy is a human metronome and he is only young, so imagine how unstoppable Alex will be in 10 years time. This isn't even his final form yet.
Alex, watching your videos is both inspiring and demotivating. You're so tight, not overly showy and just play what you need too. You make me want to be a better drummer.
Yes, that's a spanish-speaking crowd. Every show for every bands are like this in Spain, Latin America, etc. We like to enjoy the show instead of just filming everything while standing there doing nothing.
Whats great about Alex is he is not fast like old Joey jordison or krimh Karim but is one of the best technical off beats drummers I have seen. When he wrote the drumming to the song "oblivion" that is their best song for drums yet.
The entire drum kit is mic'd. The overheads help pick up the symbols in the audio mix, which is fed into both the monitors the band wears in their ears and the speakers for the audience.
That's why I appreciate drummers like Mario Duplantier (Gojira), all credit to Alex he is an amazing drummer but Mario ALWAYS squeezes in a drum solo even after playing 10+ tracks during a show, the man's an animal
