I just heard a bit of this on BBC Radio Sounds (Brothers in Arms Episode) and spent half an hour trying to find the full version. Very glad I did. Absolutely stunning. Can't believe I've never heard it before. Great job
ALEX. I’m again listening to this as I “need it”now. I hate the measurement of influence counting likes. I don’t “like” this track. I don’t even love it (powerful as love is ). I am moved, reminded of truth and admire it, the song, but your interpretation of it, every time. Forget the likes, but make sure you realise the thought provoking beauty you and the pianist bring to very word and note. Thank you sincerely.
am awestruck by the beauty and possibility of life. Not our narraow perspective of human lives. But, the far mightier mainifestion, and majesty of all life, that has thrived for millennia before and probably after humans are eradicated by our self indulgence. What pains me is our human ignorance or blindness to that beauty and our willfull or callousness to regard that beauty. We have evolved to be able to protect, express or add to that beauty, yet we fail so miserably. We could do better. We should do better. But, our narrow lives, blinkered eyes and lack of duty and care are so sorrowful and final.
I took my two eldest girls to see Alex live in a pub in London. About 20 in the crowd, a real intimate amazing gig. He asked at the end for requests and my oldest asked for Brother in Arms and he played this. The most incredible time of my life. I haven’t spoken to them for 18 months, a victim of bitter divorce, and now the beauty of this song is simply unbearable…..
Beautiful!! A lovely cover of a lovely song, if anything its really lovely as it's much clearer than the original version. Dont know why this cover isnt better known! It deserves to be!
Just FYI Alex - the lyric is 'did' hurt me so bad. Gives the meaning stronger impact in sense that his 'brothers' chose not to desert him though he was grievously traumatised.

Dermot O'Leary opens doors to musicians I don't normally listen to. I must admit this guy has a great easy listening voice....Thanks Dermot once again...
This version is simply beautiful, as is Alex's other songs! I fell in love with him, after hearing a song on Private Practice and am glad that I checked out his other songs!! Truly and amazingly brilliant! :-p
