Took a stand-up class from this dude about two years ago when he still lived in Portland. He's a funny dude and he busts his ass and I'm so glad to see those things paying off.

@@daveballance6480 I think the crowd noise was just mixed low. If you've ever done anything on stage with in-ear monitors, with just whatever crowd noise is bleeding in through a mic, it's like playing next door to an audience. :-)

He's okay. It's good to "bust your ass" for something like 'comedy' but, a natural only has to speak about things that are funny to him seemingly without trying too hard. It's difficult. I like how he fell flat & took it in stride, "okay, that didn't work"...he's is a teacher!

I thought he was so so at first cuz his jokes didn’t seem to have a thoughtful theme … boy was I wrong. So wholesome and touching. So right. I like jokes that make you re evaluate and say , u know what? He’s right!

So excited to see Alex on a platform this big! Been following his podcasts for years. Anybody wants to hear more from him, he does Pack Your Mics, a Top Chef podcast that's been getting me through the pandemic, and Read It And Weep, a podcast that used to be about bad books, TV & movies and is now mostly about good TV, movies, and sometimes just random things. I actually think this isn't 100% his best stuff, but it is definitely his brand.

Wow. Such a slow start, I thought for sure he was gonna bomb. But he turned it around pointing out that maybe we shouldn't treat women like sex vending machines -- and finished strong by reminding us that we should BE so lucky to have a friend.

@@kerryn6714 I’ll give him credit for trying hard. The humor was quite mild, but sweet. How I like my cheese, as a matter of fact, but I will dibble into spicy and hard at times. Unfortunately, some people (ahem, men, ahem) here (me being a man) have the olfactory palette of moldy cheese that smell like dirty socks.

I thought the audience was off, but after a second listen, it was the sound engineer’s fault. His mic was loud, and the audience was barely mic’ed. They were actually reacting and laughing normally.
