Yah, first heard this in 2001 seeing Amelie the movie. Back then id get word of good movies from part of the sunday newspaper my dad would get. (that put me on to reservoir dogs by a new director, run lola run etc) anyway, These type of movies wouldnt play at cinemas in the suburbs, but all way in city. Id have to convince my 19yr old mates to all drive hour each way to go see some indie arty movies( or public transport years earlier before could drive) Gamble each time bc if it sucked id cop it. Thankfully the run of movies we went to was farking amazing.
