Hey RJ, we used to run paddles when we first started going to Xmas valley but the hard pack between the soft sand really tears them up. Also paddles take down the lip of jumps a lot faster and tend to kick you side to side. Knobbies are better for the cross country riding and more stable for jumping at high speeds. We run the ITP holeshot in 22,12,9 They are big but it gives more speed and great surface area for climbing the hills. If your like us and your goal is just to go big on jumps then its a lot safer to run knobbies. I hope we can meet up some day out at the dunes!
Hey Alex - curious if your are using aftermarket handlebars, foot pegs, and shifters etc to accommodate your height and if so what you are using. I am about your height (we’ve played on the same city league bball team in the past) and am looking to upgrade for better form factor. I have an 09 700R, but also planning to add a 450r to the fleet. Hey Paul, yeah I run the pro taper MX ATV High bend bars and usually a bar riser. The newer YFZ has forward bar mount positions so I mounted there. I also run the GYTR nerf bars because they have the option to mount your legs 1 inch lower. It helps a ton!! It’s tough riding when your tall
