@@Timboolin how isn't it iconic? It became the song of basically an entire generation. Who even after growing out of most other emo stuff still have unconditional love for it
@@Timboolin yeah because Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury are known for how baggy their jeans are. Frankly I don't see what makes them different except that when they came out there was less music to choose from, and that they've had longer to establish themselves.
I'm pleasantly surprised by how many good covers of this song exist! I just found this after hearing Postmodern Jukebox do it, and that was after hearing Melodicka Bros 😁
Love the percussionist in the back ground just having the time of her life smashing those cymbals together haha. Great cover! And I'm a big My Chem fan so I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. :)
Some artists always do that lol, check out the video for Falkor by Covet and watch the drummer, half the comments on the video are about how happy the guy seems
I know I'm late for the party but I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. Not only because the nostalgia of this song hits hard but also because this is a very passionate and beautiful cover. Thank you for that!
This is so good! I especially love it when an artist covers a song that was originally sung by someone of a different gender from theirs, yet still keep the gender of the original artist the same when mentioned in the song. That shows a lot of respect to the original artist.
This is such an underrated song, should be mentioned alongside the all time great songs. I love how she stayed true to the melody and just let her voice be the point of difference, one of the best like a versions I have heard.
Damn, the drumming & the whole band together were magnificent & the backup singer on the keyboard, wow, Wow, WOW, absolutely FANTASTIC. Who is she, such a great voice??
@@steviwoodberry6433 I thought they added a nice ska touch in the bridge section. And while I like Ray Toro, this version definitely had better backing vocals.
I’ve been freaking out about this on ig before I even watched it; Alex!!! G flip!!! Like is this a crossover episode! also I hope this cover blows up, Alex and everyone deserves it
I never really like this song or gave it much of a chance until I heard this cover, i love this cover and it definitely let me hear the song in a new light
Hi Triple J. How about if G-Flip ever does something like this in support of another band, can we have a video released just of a camera watching her the entire time? She just fills a room with joy
I just discovered Alex Lahey today (been living stateside for 15 years). Holy **^&% She plane out ROCKS!!! What a performance. Gives me hope for the future... and Triple J (old Gen Xer just not digging whats been getting made lately). Just wow.
Did anyone else notice the auxiliary percussionist?? She just looks like she is having so much fun the whole time! This would be a fun song to play, excellent cover too
I didn't think it was possible but this is the first song I've ever bumped to. Absolutely awesome orchestration, delivery and energy. How does everyone get every note and sound perfect for nearly 6 minutes? Sooo talented! Thanks Alex et al.!!
I feel like im watching a Nickelodeon kids rock band make it big and it's kind of heartwarming. I don't know how old these guys are but their vibe brings me back to my highschool days preforming this same song for a talent show back in the day. It's so nice to see someone with the same influences (And way more talent) make it this far
I’m a big Alex lahey fan and I wanted to be offended by this and as I was typing a comment about how you were wrong and watching the performance i can’t even disagree. Let’s at least settle on it being like the winner of the talent show
