I went to the Salvation Army, and they were having a 70% SALE on wedding dresses and gowns and prom dresses. I bought them all. I have some cut up, and others are still whole. So I have alot of white, pink, dark pink, violet, etc. So I was looking at how to use silk and satin in my quilts. Thank you.

If you iron over a dryer sheet….it cleans the bottom of the iron…you might put a cloth under the dryer sheet so it doesn’t leave an area where the “stuff “ on the dryer sheet gets on your ironing board cover..🤗😁it really does work! 21:32

Vinegar works great for cleaning the iron plate.

Alex, I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but Bonnie Hunter shared that she used the non fog spray on her glasses, and it works like a charm at keeping them from fogging over. It's work a try!

Suggestion for your iron, toothpaste with a lightly damp microfiber cloth, it won't scratch the surface of the iron like steel wool will. You can always crochet a dish scrubby with cotton yarn & strips of the mesh bags your fruit comes in.

Hi Alex, I don't know if in the US you have this product but it get everything off my iron including plastic, it's called "white king Hi speed hot iron cleaner" from Australia! Love what you and Rick are doing!!

Alex, the only brand that works for that for me on the iron bottom is Rowenta cleaning kit. It really really works. If you didn't try that, I urge you to give it a try before you use something like Ajax or steel wool.

how about silk blends, like Robert Kauffman radiance? and can you machine quilt on 100% silk?

It's actually true that silks were weighted with lead and shreds over time. Check out some books by Barbara Brackman on antique fabrics.

In Md. G street fabrics has great silks.

I have just recently started collecting silk. I am curious, do you ever buy online? I have picked up pieces in Birmingham and Houston last year, but I can't find it locally.
