Alex Ovechkin destroying people for 4 minutes staright highlights disclaimer: I don't own any of the clips in this video and this video was made following RU-vids fair use rules.
That's what I heard so I believe that's where I'm going next. 🏥➡⚫🤠 Also I've noticed that he is occasionally a "sneaky" excellent and clever passer in his golden years.
Bro that's your second comment with this nonsense.. His goals speak for themselves, he has 700+ of them.. You are clearly talking out of your ass & know nothing about hockey.
I grew up in DC, watched this legend from his first game to leading the steam to a Stanley Cup. No one is Washington ever thought we'd win a championship until Ovie and the Caps and he did it.
The greatest modern goal scorer in the NHL. Might be the all time best goal scorer by the time he is done. He also crushes people with hits. I love his game.
Ovi is a near-perfect player: passionate, excellent hands, amazing hockey sense, sniper and solid like a brick. It’s hard to not to be in awe of the guy. I am especially impressed with how clean almost all of these hits are.
Clean hits and it's obvious that Ovi loves dishing them out too. It's very rare to see a player in any sport who seems to be able to literally do it all.
One of the Greats for sure! Complete Player..Physical as it gets and equally as Talented of a Goal Scorer. Absolutely Monster!! 💪 An Honor To Watch On The Ice
That hit on Jagr in the Olympics, Subban, and so many more earlier in his career. This video could be 3x as long. What a beast and one of the greatest pure goal scorers ever.
I hope Matthews can carry that mantle after Ovi. Among the younger guys he’s in a class by himself for goal scoring as it is, I bet he could be deadly if he worked with ovi to get even better with his goal scoring.
I'm a lifelong Flyers fan, but I can't help but respect Ovy for using his entire body for hard, but clean/legal hits. He's a great player that loves the game.
@@channingtaintum the hatred goes both ways :), you might be hated more than the Pens around here tbh. That aside it’s been a treat to watch his career unfold with us. So happy we finally stopped choking in the second round and got him the ring he deserves. Hope he becomes top three in goals. Even tho he’s not the GOAT I would take him in a heartbeat when making an all time team.
Repent to Jesus Christ “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NIV Ju
I fucken love Ovechkin. Imagine finding a skill player who's a 8 time Rocket richard Winner. With a 7 minute straight highlight reel of fucking hits! How many of those will there be in history? Cherish this dude in sports. Something special.
Just wish he helped Wash win more Cups back 10-15 years ago. What a boost to Washington to have such an electric Captain for so long. There is no bad time had in any section of the Cap One Arena, for a long time now.
@@TRKISH324 He gave everything he had to help the caps win those cups. I wish he succeeded more two but there can only be one each year. It takes an organization to win cups. Never one player. In any 'team' sport. Other teams just played better. He helped give them a chance each year. All you can ask for.
@@MT-et5fc I know man. They were just on fire some of those seasons to fail early in the playoffs. Just wish they could've finished better, but so happy they did put the hammer down in '18
It'll be a long time, if ever, when we see another player like Ovi. Pure goal scorer, might be the best ever, but he's also a pseudo enforcer on his team as well. EVERY part of being a perfect hockey player is there, every shift, every game. Hits, and hard, scores, protects. Best all-around hockey player ever. Full stop.
This is why he is the best player in NHL history. Nobody can sniff what he has done. And I grew up with Gretzky and I'm from Boston. This kid has everything
2:27 - Superstar vs Superstar. I think once Crosby realized it was Ovechkin, he was like "okay, cool!" which is why he was smiling at the end of the clip.
when you're that good at hockey, and at the top of the nhl, you assume he'd play it safe like syd, but the russian in him just cant help fucking people up
Forsberg was different in that I rarely if ever saw him hit clean. More of an opportunistic checker, not face to face like Ovechkin. Ovechkin in most of these highlights is meeting the player when their head is up. Peter "Foreskin" used to hit from behind and usually from the side by sneaking up on players with their heads down. Check it out, prove me wrong.
As a Caps fan, I love Ovi and when he plays physically. Watching this video reminds me of another great player, Cam Neely when he was a Bruin. They're in different eras but are cut from the same cloth. I would have loved to see a game with Neely before his injuries and Ovi early in his career.
yeah, definitely, I mean if you leave out Gordie Howe. But you did say 700+ goal scorers, not 800+. Messier had just about 700. Very similar players in a lot of ways.
@@jays1752 Except Ovi plays in todays game where you can't just elbow people in the face. Go watch some old broad st bullies garbage. It's not "tough" at all. They were just cheapshot artists.
@Mike True, and goalies are also WAY bigger. 6'4 is a normal goalie now. That's not considered "tall" for a goalie. On the other hand, composite sticks give everyone a canon of a snapshot. Players with "terrible" shots still get snapshots off like rockets. Composite sticks have made every player's shot dangerous, and elevated the best's as well.
@Mike I'm sure he would score a boatload of goals in any era. I've never seen him play live. Maybe I should next time they come to town. Thanks, you just cost me at least $150, ha ha.
Greatest of all time. His shooting percentage is greater than Gretzky’s when you consider that this is a league that has a much lower goals per game average than Gretzky’s era. Greatest pure goal scorer to ever hit the ice. Always been clean, always made his presence felt with physicality, and he’s a fantastic leader. Ovi is the GOAT
agree, hes the best. if ya could pick any player, from any era hed be my 1st pick. imagine a playoff series against gretzky.? wayne was great, but an un writen rule sayin ya cant hit him. well if ovi hit him, hed be crushed, that would ware him down, after a few games. and in todays hockey he would b hit. get any enforcer ya want, i"d counter with a better 1. i meant cuz the game is faster, wayne would get hit.
Sad to think well soon be coming to the end of this era. Have been watching OV since i was a kid and still stunning to watch today. The amount of passion and commitment, his determination to change the game. Thank you OV for every goal, hit, play, momment you gave it 200%.
I love how Pier was all serious when Svechnikov got KO’d by Ovi lmaoooo that kid learned that day, never to fight a man if you ain’t got what it takes lmao
Ovechkin is as strong as they come. I don't think I've every seen someone get the best of him. He hits like a Mack Truck and usually comes out of it on both his feet. I'm quite confident that there are a few tough guys in the League who are relieved that he's not a bona fide NHL pugilist.
Exactly! Maurice Maurice Maurice in a time when vicious/dagereous blows rained down every night! Maurice!!!!! But I also like Alex a lot, in the same way as Bobby Orr, the incredible talent and badass !!!! And that's saying a lot, because I'm a French Québécois who saw Jean Belliveau, Jean Claude Tremblay, Henry Richard, the incridable Valeri Kharlamov, Bobby Hull, Serge Savard, the great Larry, the roadrunner Yvan, the impossible-to-scare-of super talent Guy Lafleur, the magnificent Wayne, the brutal Howe, Teemu Selänne and the magician Mario, my choice after Orr and Maurice.
@@chris10878 if Tom Wilson fought the rookie guy he would be called a bully but Ovi fights the rookie guy he is a Russian hero. Oh my what a fighter put it all over the internet Ovi is the best. I am surprise he hasn't got his head taken off yet. Over rated fight not a big challenge really.
@@tommycodfish ok fair enough. I never said he was a hero tho. He just whipped that guys ass. Good punches and hard hits. I have no idea who the guy was… besides A professional hockey player.
@@chris10878 His name is Andrei Svechnikov. Drafted by Carolina 2nd round 2018. He was 19 years old a Russian player a rookie and Ovi didn't hold nothing back. It really easy to fight a rookie when Ovi has been in the NHL for so long. If that was an experience fighter Ovi would fight. Like I said if that was Tom Wilson's fighting the rookie it would be he would be a goon. The rookie look hesitate at first but Ovi seems to pick the right battles that makes him look really tough but he hasn't fought any tough guys and that is why it is an overated fight or win for Ovi and it is just an highlighted reel for the world to see.
Love it! I know some peeps don’t like him but for rest of us enjoy it while it lasts. He’s UFA but gonna sign one last contract with Caps and try to catch Gretzky goal record. He’s 35yo and has 730g now so 164 goals away. 40g a year is possible over 4yr contract. If could catch Jagr next season at 766 would be good start…
@@tuoms It's not hate, it's helping people realize that Ovi scores (via shot volume. His career % is 13.2 which is average for a first line NHL scorer) and hits, and that's it. It's this notion that he's the ultimate player, or even close to the best player in the world that drives us objective people nuts. Ovi is very good at what he does, but ONLY at what he does.
All clean hits. Skates on ice, in the chest, nothing from behind, nothing below the waist, nothing at the head. He just runs over people. What a player.
You are so wrong, Ovechkin is a dirty player who cross checks and boards people all the time and hardly ever gets called for it. He is a strong supporter of Putin, who kills innocent women and children, and if the NHL had any they would send him back to Russia, permanently.
If the great Gretzky would have hit like Ovechkin, the great one would have scored maybe 300 goals. Ovechkin a true superstar. Didn't need protection like the great one did!
