5:34 the jornalist asked “what name you would choose if Dana ask you …? Plinio Translated “what would you do next if Dana ask you?” … he ruined the question that everyone wants to hear the answer! 🤬
Who u calling a one trick pony? U mean alex pereira? Why and how did u come to that analysis.. do explain bcuz to me u look like a dum dum right now, uninformed inexperienced and lack of knowledge of mma. Now im not saying i know it all but enuff to think ur comment is stupid
My fav part about that is his coach couldn’t even ask Alex the question with a straight face. I feel like jamahal is a meme in their gym/in private lol
@@kousseilashakur672 3-1 , He's doing what Izzy couldnt do to become a champ at 2 division , He's active. And yeah I know you are a coping izzy fangirl i know it
People thought Sean Strickland is how men should act, but its Alex Pereira whos showing us how we should act. Humility, confidence, faith, and best wishes towards others.
Izzy brought this on the roster. If he kept his mouth shut with the "I beat that guy once" comment he wouldn't have awakened the ancient Brazillian spirits.
It's incredible how he poatan manages to stay humble in spite of all he's achieved. I remember him saying before the fight that anything could happen and an eventual defeat was inevitable, he just accepted it and we know it wouldn't shatter his confidence like it does to so many... And he never underestimates his opponents, this man is an example of maturity, discipline and humility. My respect for him grows with every fight, im proud to have the same heritage. Btw, he's translator doesn't make justice to the level of humbleness and respect in his speech...
@@nananyantakyi1549 You saying he beat Alex is the first fight shows that you know nothing about kickboxing and scoring. Izzy was dominating but the last round which still only wins you that round. Alex won the first 2 rounds even tho 1 of those rounds was really close.
Because question are simple, like "do u plan to fight at heavyweight?", and answers come from heart and he's mostly avoiding direct answers to questions.
Even the questions. 5:34 the journalist clearly asked for names and Plinio didn’t translated it well. He should focus in his Job and let the professional translator do his job as well.
So frustrating to hear how bad the translations from Poatan's trainer are... He makes mistakes and even ommits very important info. For example, Poatan said that his MMA career is young, started recently, and that's why he thinks he still is improving and has margin for improvement. While Jiri's career already started a long time ago, for that reason it might be more difficult for him to change/improve
If Magomed stupidly decides to stand with him yes he will destroy him but if he wrestles him Alex is done. He will be on his back the whole fight. They’re on a crash course and Alex has got to know it. If I were his team I’d be strictly wrestling from now until they fight.
Your right lol I see wym man Izzy wishes he was this tough but he’s good don’t get me wrong his fanboys will never go away but if your unbiased you can see Alex is built different. Stared his opponent down for 5 mins while Izzy talks to himself convincing himself he’s willing to die lol u see it on Alex’s eyes he doesn’t even have to say it lol
Even the native tradutor of RU-vid are wrong kkkkkk "Chama" in portuguese is "call me" not party nor flame. Verb to call Eu chamo Tu chamas Ele chama Nós chamamos Vós chamais Eles chamam
Ankalaev isn't showing any activity, he normally waits for Abu Dhabi events, so Jiri deserved this fight, after this if Ankalaev wants it he should fight Jamal and winner gets title fight.
If Alex does well against Ankalaevs takedowns, Jon would NEVER entertain a fight with Alex because he knows Alex would take his soul. He really is that guy!!!
Anakalaev’s wrestling is worlds apart from Alex’s. There’s no way he stuffs his takedowns. I’m a huge Alex fan but I’d pick an elite grappler to win over an elite striker any day.
Everyone standing in front of Alex trying to kickbox him out of pride is insane, he's been doing that his whole life, 2x champ... Jon is not stupid, he would wreste him all the way.
Alex is so technical , and doesn't waste energy in any movement he makes. It's about quickly exposing your flaws and efficiently taking you out almost like an assassin. Like for him to showcase anything else he's learned you'd have to push him to that point. I think Magomed could get him to the ground, but as I said earlier magomed would have no footage of Alex's ground game he would be in the dark on what Alex does next. Were assuming he's weak on the ground because he striking is otherworldly and he's never really been push to used it.
Call me mystic: Pereira vs Ankalaev (Winner: Pereira) Jones vs Stipe (Winner: Jones) Jones vs Aspinall (Jones unifies the heavyweight belt) Super fight: Pereira vs Jones for the heavyweight belt
I feel that Dana White and the UFC need to start paying Bonus money to the same pay that a Conor McGregor would get. I realize that in theory the Bonuses are said to be at $50,000 but be honest and let the MMA Fan Base know that you have given MORE to more fighters in the past. Fighters like McGregor, John Jones, Rhonda Rousey, Nate Diaz (just to name a few). Let alone that Alex Pereira and Yiri Prochazca had $AVED the UFC 303 FIGHT CARD, after McGregor dropped the ball again!!! Its really sad that a "Trash Talker" like McGregor will get more Money and a Higher Bonus, than an Undisputed TWO Weight Division "Straight Talking" CHAMPION in Alex "Poatan" Pereira!!!
Conor sells seats at high ticket prices. They are not paying him for no reason. Conor sells more than multiple regular ppv events at like 5x to 10x. If you want everyone else to get paid, you gotta be willing to buy these other ppv too like this one.
This Guy is a nightmare. I know Izzy was hoping he would lose. 😂. Not gonna happen Browsky. Its over for the heavyweight division if he decides to go up.
@@JonathanGonzalez-jz4td bro pereira is an all time great already, he joined ufc at 33 y/o and became double champ and he is 5 wins - 1 loss against ufc champions
@@seanfrank32 true knowing ufc they gonna tell him “what you wanna do Alex move up or stay ? Okay if u wanna move up will give you a wack fighter that could wrestle then after we push for main event for the title sound good” 😂
Don't know how good Jones is at HW. He beat Ciril But is Alex a better striker than Ciril? Alex has been with Glover for awhile. Alex is definitely better on the ground than we've seen. No chance Jones fights Alex on the feet. He'll probably take him down and do nothing with it. Chama
W and L take. Alex is better on the ground than we think but Jones is too clever and versatile. Do not underestimate either but bank on Jones to come through based on his experience, cleverness, and ability to analyse before and during a fight!
Gane is journey man in MMA. He was the set up to make Jon look good after 3 years. Jon never needed that and stop saying Gane is a great fighter sickening or maybe I'm biased
@@wendigo1881he went 5 rounds with francis who has beaten everyone in the hw division. If francis didn’t turn into a wrestler he would have lost the title to gane, that is no journeyman
I like how most of the comments aren’t even praising Alex, they’re just hating on Izzy 😂. If this dude gets past Ankalaev, there will be absolutely no more doubts. I was wrong yet again. It’s hard to bet against this man at this point but I still see Ankalaev being his biggest threat
I am following MMA from few years and I don't know much about. The only think I can say is that Sagat here from street fighter is the best warrior I ever seen till now in this division. Chama! 👊
That chain is fucking sick lol. I love Jiri, he's awesome, but had no dog in this fight. Would've been fine with either guy winning and all the respect to Poatan. God DAMN is this man a scary individual, straight up monster. We need more badasses like him in MMA period.
@@MartyFromDagestan Alex has more consecutive title defenses at 205 than even DC. And the light heavyweights of today aren't small middleweights like in the previous era with Jon and DC. They're mostly 6.3-6.4 now and weigh much more than back then.
No way. Jones is the LHW goat. Fight recency bias. Jones beat Cormier twice - Texeira who was on a ridiculous winning streak. Both those guys at that time would beat Hill, Jiri, Jan, etc. Alex is a great champion, but LHW Jones would make it a wrestling match and beat him there IMHO. I'd be cheering for Poatan to win tho.
@@AdAstraStakePool Never said that Alex is better than Jon but the new best one of this new era. Jon's era had basically middleweights as light heavyweights unlike this new era where everyone is bigger and are more evolved.
As a Brazilian who speaks both English and Portuguese, I find that the translator sometimes misses a lot of the essence of the message, which is a bit unfortunate. Alex really provides great answers, and I feel that you guys miss a lot with the translation.
His interpreter whom i think is his friend is terrible at translating. He gives the gist of the question and leaves out many particulars as well as peculiarities in his words.
Build up hype as fight of the decade just to see Poatan get submitted? Nah. Jones is a smart bastard , he knows that he cannot beat Aspinall thats why he called out pereira so he can submit him.
Say what you will, Alex is a genuinely really good dude. Never wishes ill on his opponents. Offers to train with them and 100% does if they take him up on the offer. Clearly treats the people around him great and is obscenely loyal to them. He could have shit on Kayla or at least joked about her and instead was genuinely complimentary and thankful and appreciative. You know he would kill for Glover or Plinio. Only says good things about Jiri and hopes for the best for him as well as the only other person to beat him prior to UFC. Alex is solid.
I swear this isn’t hindsight but I partially saw it in the first round the way Jiri was so focused on leg kicks, he was susceptible to the headcount. Rewatch the first round.
