I disagree because he's always focused on the wrestler/grappler far more than the opponent who is a striker. Rogan is the same exact. Dom Cruz is the best commentary because he is just factual about the entire fight on both sides. Rogan and DC often yell out, "that's super tight" then the guy in the choke escapes because it isn't tight at all.
DC is fucking huge man. Not even in a fat way, just the size of his head neck and shoulders compared to Alex. Crazy to think he was like 5’10 fighting giants.
I noticed that too, we see a few improvements from the man already and I would not be shocked if he has improved his English much even more by the end of next year coz he knows he is the face of the UFC and people like him so he knows the importance of communicating in English, I think he’s improving his English faster than most of the Brazilian fighters who use translators, he has good people around him who creates a healthy environment so he’s very fortunate in that regards too.
volk and Izzy did when they were the champs id like to commend volk (and izzy to a certain degree) more though since they also fought wrestlers and grapplers, not just strikers like pereira
@@jstew8206 his run is one of the most fun ones to watch for sure but since he's only fought strikers, he's definitely not going to be one of the goats of division or the mma as a whole he could be if he fought and beat a handful of well established wrestlers and/or goats though (e.g. jones, Aspinall, ankalaev, etc)
@@Varelinski It’s not always about the accuracy of translation, it’s how they fit in with the conversation and make it flow nicely. Plinio obviously has a great connection with Alex and it allows for good interviews. That’s why I like him over having a different translator
Two years in the ufc , 12 fights, he beat 5 former champions, won 2 different belts in different weight classes , saved ufc 300 ,saved ufc 303 in two weeks notice putting his belt on the line , became superstar , wants to move up to HEAVYWEIGHT and become the first ever 3 division champ in ufc history. And still conquering in the biggest stage of them all ufc .
@@11Dethronehe still fought jiri and while he isn’t predominantly a wrestler he can wrestle and survived his takedown, he also trains wrestling its just most ppl at the top are boxers or kickboxers
I think what makes DC so great at getting the best interviews from his guests is that he can really connect with people from all backgrounds and he can tap into that comfort zone and make them feel like they’re one of him. Classic example here with Chama!
I like Alex because unlike Izzy he always goes for the kill, he doesn’t wait for his opponent. Izzy has several boring fights because of that logic and Alex is just different.
Holy fuck dc took the criticism from Islam and the Dagestanis about being out of shape he looks like he’s in better shape than when he was an active fighter
I respect so much the fact that DC says Alex now you coach your coach as a joke a Alex immediately turns serious as a sign of ultimate respect to his coach
I was expecting DC would help Poatan to fight JJones with his wrestling skills. I think Poatan with Wrestling has a chance against Jones.... But i think it will never happen
If he focuses solely on wrestling defense with DC and gets good enough to defend against Jones takedowns and submission attempts, Jones only chance would be his versatile striking with kicks and his titanium chin
@@marcioamaral7511 i don't think Jones chin will matter if he gets hit by Alex. I also don't think Jones wins with striking. Alex's leg kicks would demolish Bone's base and he would have a hard time shooting for takedowns and attacking. If the fight drags Jones loses, if he takes Alex down, he wins.
@@lordskysixss It's true that Jones never fought someone with the same K.O power as Alex but don't underestimate Jones kicks and distance management, his defense is insane.
I do'nt understand Portugese but the translator seems to do a really good job at remembering and translating the whole dialogue instead of shortening it. Give the man a pay rise 👏👏
Khalil cried when Sean strickland told him they dated the same girl and then he reported Strickland to the ufc for sexual harassment. Of course he's emotional 😂
In my eyes Alex is most definitely one of the best to ever do it, his story, how he finishes fights, how he makes champions look easy. No disrespect to any style it’s part of the sport but poatan keeps himself in the fire on the feet and delivers pure entertainment. Real champion.
i've hang around lot a places when i was young & even in school , makes me wonder why is the quiet guy is always the dangerous one when it comes to fight ?
4 tile fights in a year is savage, and I am here for every minute of it. I keep having flashback dreams of Alex head kicking Jiri buts it's just Dana kicking the MMA media in the face over their pound for pound rankings. In the end, A.I. takes over the pound for pound rankings and Dana can finally rest in peace. DC thanks for checking in with ya boi. Você sabe o que deve fazer, Alex. Verifique o gancho..E AINDA!! Muito amor
Alex will most likely improve his English just as Canelo did. There was a period of time where Canelo didn't speak English or he didn't want to speak much or get better at it, but then he became a menace in English. I predict the same for Pereira
Alex is at a point where this is another day in the office for him. For Khalil, it’s his dreams coming to fruition if he does what he believes he can do. Could play into this fight but I’m still picking Alex
