His walkout at UFC 295 is one of the best entrances of all time and Jiri vs Alex was the best main event I’ve ever seen, from the entrances to the post fight interviews.
Poatans entrance is always crazy but I thought Jiris entrance topped his, made the fight feel like a goddamn movie. The staredown while the music was going was so intense.
Poatan actually actually means "hard hand" or "stone hand" or "hand of stone"? He's probably the only UFC fighter who actually has a perfect nickname, then. I picked Izzy to win, due to his better experience at the UFC, but when I saw Poatan putting his Native necklace on, the night at the hotel before the fight... and hearing how much he has reflected on his people's history, which he didn't know any thing about until a coach, he said, asked him to look into whether he had Indigenous genealogy... I was quite moved by it.... His calmness and self-assurance ...about all the many big and small problems he's faced in life.... but he's sure that he beat Izzy twice before and he would do it again, THE SAME WAY: with a punch to Izzy's face! I wasn't so sure about that, that night... but Poatan could be the only fighter Izzy may never beat!
Sepultura is a group from Brazil you should check out their music. This is just one type of song alot of their stuff is metal and max sings in English.
@@travisoliver4853 Two-division champ, mate. How can he be a weight bully if he's won the belt in the upper division and could still win the heavyweight belt?
for those who dont know, this song is a recording by the Xavante indigenous tribe, it was the tribe that received Sepultura so they could connect with indigenous culture to record this album called Roots released in 1996. Roots presents extensive influences from Brazilian music, being its main characteristic is the use of tribal percussion. This song is very interesting because they didn't have electricity in the tribe so to record this track they used an eight-channel recorder and a truck battery to power the recorder
Yeah jiri has that chin-foward awkward fighting style, and his chin is naturally good so he can endure some shots with that risky style. But poatan literally means "fists of stone", dudes power is actually insane. No chin can stand up to it
Im the only one who thinks alex has a career in hollywood awaiting. Bros demeanor is one of the baddest thing ever. The walkout, the way his stone face waiting for his opponents. His name "poatan". This guy gives me chills. Pure alfa settings
@@sepp_4493 Alex put Izzy on oxygen lol. Damn near nearly killed the man. Also those kickboxing fights were him barely after debuting, like his 8th pro fight and Izzy's 40th lol. And the second one where he KO'd him and put him on oxygen was on something like 4 days notice after a family member of his died I'm pretty sure. Then he went to MMA and embarrassed him again and the ref saved Izzy from being absolutely sparked unconscious. Izzy landed one lucky punch that Alex for some reason can't block because he's so used to big gloves covering him. Izzy running away now too 😂. He nearly broke in round 2 from calf kicks again hahahaha
The day he came walking out to this song in the UFC he immediately became my favorite fighter. With 90% of them walking out to mumble rap or pop rock, this was a refreshing change.
@@Gualtier_Maldehuh? The whole world AND Brazil can see him through the PPV. It’s not like everyone in the world can see him fighting when he fights in the USA, the immigration laws there are notoriously strict. Plus, he has been begging to fight in UFC 301
I'm glad Poatan was able to make the world see the almost forgotten real brazilians, the south american natives which are now less than 1% of the population are still there, living life in their own way.
@@magician_aleks2726 most of brazilians have native's blood since they were millions here. To the north they still look just like the natives, but living a more "civilized" life.
UFC 🛑 fighters doesn't have culture, they are badass behind badass and they all Enter with electronic music or songs that have been used over and over again
@@applemilind4879 Izzy was moving his head. And aware. He was looking at Alex feet and knew where he was. Izzy was hurt in the Kelvin fight and won. Marc was trying to get famous. And the fact you know his name now proves my point 🤔
Love the song and the effect,. I just wish you had made the end less abrupt so as to be more loopable. I could listen to this for a few hours straight. 🗿
Most MMA fighters listen to shit music, at least Pereira keeps it on the tradition AND listens to a great group such as Sepultura. Greatest brazilian band of all time.
You guys should check Sepultura. It's a brazilian metal band. One of the pioneers and inspired many new bands in that time like Slipknot, for exemple. This song represents our natives sings to go to war. In Brazil we had (had, cuz a lot of them was decimaded, just like in USA) many native tribes in the whole land, including in the coast, where we had Tupis, Guaranis. The Tupiniquims was the ones that had received the Portugueses around 1500. They (the Tupiniquims) was mostly find in the southeast coast of the Brasil, especially in the coast where we all known now nowdays as São Paulo, Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro and more. Some contexte, so you guys can have some deep info about Poatan too.
I never listened to this band until last year then I watched the UFC the other weekend and was shocked to see him walk out to this song made me love him even more
No lie, this is my 5:30 am alarm. I find it it calming to wake up to and gets me pumped. I even do the that war march on beat _sometimes_ when i get out of bed 😆
