From April 30th 2018. Testament and all around guitar maestro Alex Skolnick discusses and demonstrates his early influences. Filmed at Replay Guitar Exchange in Tampa, Florida by gearsy.com
I started the same way Alex did; I experimented & learned simple songs. The first riff I learned to play was the main riff from "Dog Eat Dog" (Adam and the Ants).
Mark Eagen playes some of his most accessible work in mainstream with ARCADIA (Duran Duran) on the So Red the Rose.... Amazing album. Criminally Underrated *edit* You are one of the faced on my Mount Rushmore of Metal Guitar, Alex. Thank you for all of your amazing work.
Any rude idiot who doesn’t mute their annoying notifications should be bounced out of the venue. Nobody wants to hear it but don’t do that to the guest. It ruins everyone’s focus and it’s never necessary.
First riff: Wipe out, my friend's brother showed me. Second Riff : Pretty woman from Guitar Player magazine. My first foray into tabs! (But I still learned alot by ear cause there weren't too many tabs in 1987! ) Third Riff : Sweet Child o' Mine intro. First "Hard" Riff/Chords: Master of Puppets. Cheers!
what a cool guy sharing with common folk how things can really influence and inspire a hobby into a real job in the end but yeh the knowledge of music ,real nice rocker
