Alexa still has a lot of the same mannerisms that she had when she was younger, it's so cute. She has such a brightness to her.

i’m an infrequent watcher so i’ve never seen trisha cover a more serious topic like this, and just wow… she is a truly great interviewer. she asks thoughtful and appropriate questions, she relates her own experience without making it about herself, just so much empathy and understanding i’ve always enjoyed trish as a performer and the entertainment value she brings to her content, but this interview really made me see her in an all new light with a newfound respect brava, trish

Alexas's story about her ex-husband is heartbreaking. And the fact that a lawyer drafted and allowed her to sign that document without a lawyer is beyond me. especially with that language in the documents. For that alone, the lawyer should be disbarred.

I totally see them bullying her, I believe Alexa was an innocent 12 year old who acted her age. Jamielyn was definitely trying to act older and acting older. That’s why she was pregnant at 16. Nothing was wrong with Alexa she was bullied because she got to grow up with grace.

Kids who act like Jamie Lynn is honestly a reflection of terrible parenting. Any parent who doesn’t teach their child empathy and inclusion is trash.

They were jealous of Alexa's light! You should never have to apologize for or explain why you're a bubbly, positive person. That's a gift to be able to find things to smile about in this world.

Alexa’s bullying experience especially with the “why are you smiling all the time” “are you an alien” got to me. I remember kids saying the same thing to me. You know what it’s because she was vibrant and pretty and it intimidated them and made them feel as if she was more likeable so they tried dragging her down. ❤

I hope Alexa is able to properly sue her assaulter one day. The legal system is so unfair and impossible to navigate without money. I understand the helpless feeling all too well.

I can’t believe this podcast actually happened!! Thank you for letting Alexa tell her story. I never thought as an avid Zoey 101 watcher and HUGE fan of the show that I’d be watching this years later and learning about what actually happened behind the scenes. It breaks my heart because I related so much to Nicole on the show as a preteen as well and when Alexa left I was devastated. I really hope justice is served properly to all the sick, evil individuals who put these kids through all this trauma.

Alexa, you were only on two seasons but your character stuck with so many of us as a part of our childhood. I’m so sorry you went through everything you did. I personally know how hard it is to be a survivor and to have that trauma always apart of you- but you have really taken control of your own story and have helped so many others in return. I think that’s beautiful❤️

I remember as a kid being very upset when Nicole didn’t return in the third season and I always thought it was strange so when Alexa came forward all those years after, it in a weird way validated my inner child‘s feelings?? I hated how they closed her character out. I loved her because I was that bubbly girl. Now knowing that she was bullied and made fun of for being that smiley girl (and I was too) makes me really proud of her for standing her ground and leaving the show.

I feel like autistic girls really understand Alexa’s pain with Jamie and the others because I also had “friends” in high school who would do the same thing. I had “friends” who would throw parties, purposely not invite me, and then call me from the party to let me know they were having fun. Looking back on it now, it was so obvious that they hated me but as a child who just wants friends I simply wanted to be involved. I hope they live the lives they deserve (and so far they are hehe).

When I was a kid I clearly remember how hard Nickelodeon pushed Jamie Lynn Spears. When they added her to All That, they ran commercials and promos non stop. Then when they made Zoey101 they pushed that even harder. And Jamie Lynn wasn’t what Nickelodeon promised in my opinion. Looking back now it’s so clear what a huge brat she was then, and how awful she still is now. It’s even more clear to me that Jamie Lynn is a terrible person after Britneys book came out. This girl was a victim of both Schneider and Jamie Lynn and I’m glad she is standing up for herself and telling her story

I feel so so bad for Alexa, she is truly a fantastic example of someone who grows through what they go through. She has not wavered, she has not cracked, she has not wavered. Truly an inspiration for her sharing her story and truly realizing what happened. The trailer with Brittany is truly horrible. I can't believe Jamie had her do this. Truly awful.

This episode SAVED ME! As a 23 year old female. I've had this happen to me for years and couldnt understand why. I'm a bubbly person as well, and struggle to make friwnds with women. Always seen as the outsider and would blame myself all the time while everyone else cliques so easily. Still going through this till this day and am struggling. Thought i was the only one 😢

I remember being told “You smile too much.” It still sticks with me 10 years later. So refreshing to hear someone have the same feeling

If your little sister is getting bullied, you do not assault a child. You contact the other child’s parents and have a civil conversation. What Britney did was WRONG.

I’ve seen people complain or get annoyed that Alexa is constantly talking about her trauma and speaking up, saying that she should be over that at this point or saying she was a child then, so it shouldn’t matter anymore. But what people don’t understand is, it does matter. If you have never been abused by someone to the point you felt like nothing it’s hard to understand. Yes she was a child but as a child she expierenced so much hurt from Dan, the cast, and producers around her. I absolutely would believe that would be traumatic. Especially a grown ass man taking his anger out onto a little girl just rages me to the core. I’m glad she’s speaking up and continues to, because she wants to let the world know what went on. One can heal, but one will never forget what they were put through. It grosses me out that men like that are out there in a powerful status. He’s a predator and he should absolutely be called out for what he has done. No amount of money in the world could be given to me to keep me silent if I was in any of these ladies shoes. So I applaud her and Jeanette and others who are speaking out. Dan should be behind bars but unfortunately because of his power and wealth he will never be. So the best option for now is to tell everyone who he really is. Also being bullied by other kids who you thought could have been your friend is also a terrible thing to go through. Jamie knew what she was doing and she went after Alexa because of her youthfulness and kindness. So she preyed on her because at the time she saw her as a weak link or competition. Jamie was a brat and knew she could get her way and she did. So I’m also glad that Alexa is speaking up about her because that was so F’ed up on how Jamie treated her.

As a neurodivergent woman, as I grew up I learned no one that I thought was my friend actually liked me. They never told me that but everyone else around us knew. It really hit me and caused me to not bother making friends outside of other parent friends for play dates. It hurts how people can be so passive aggressive and bully you and pretend they’re your friend instead of being straightforward. I didn’t understand that these people used me as the butt of every joke and actively tried to hurt me, as I laughed along and smiled with them.

Alexa was my FAVORITE on Zoey 101, I hate hearing how much abuse these kids suffered 😞 but I am glad they feel safe now as adults to speak out.

Alexa was such a great actress and so bubbly despite the mental torment she endured. Makes me feel better about quitting my toxic job. She stood up for herself at a young age.

I will never forget being bullied in elementary school and really feel for Alexa. My bully tried to convince everyone not to be my friend and when I asked her why, she said “you’re fat, ugly, and bite your nails”. It sticks with you forever.

It's heartbreaking to not only see her still visibly traumatized and emotional, but to know how toxic the Zoey 101 set was. I loved Nicole on Zoey 101 and had zero idea the amount of crap Alexa dealt with behind the scenes ;( Hoping she continues to find her strength and would love if she made a return to acting as a new, strong and brave person.

Literally said “good job Trisha!!!” out loud after I finished listening. So proud of you for helping shine a light on these issues that have affected us more than most realize. I was so similar to you growing up and have done my best to heal but it’s on going and I’m so glad this stuff is being talked about now!!

I know I've said this in a ton of episodes, but I can't say enough that this was definitely Trish's calling. She does SUCH an amazing job interviewing her guests and LISTENING to them and just letting them tell their stories. My biggest pet peeve with podcasts is when the host constantly cuts off their guests and talks over them and talks MORE than them. You can tell that Trish is GENUINELY interested in what her guests have to say. And I've seen Alexa on quite a few podcasts now, the first one I ever seen with her was Let's Get Into It with Sloan. It was the first time I heard her full story. I feel so bad for the things that she (and many others) endured as a child. And even as an adult with her ex-husband. I can relate to her on so many levels, when it comes to that. What she's doing now is truly amazing and I just KNOW that she'll help with the change this world needs!! #eatpredators

I’ll tell you why all the girls couldn’t get along. Divine and conquer, abuse only happens when people are not talking. Therefore, the abuser has an incentive to keep the girls separated and fighting for as long as possible. I guarantee Dan had a huge part and all the girls not getting along.

I am SO impressed with this interview. Trish, you’re so good at keeping the tempo and keeping the guest on track whilst still allowing them the space to talk openly. You don’t overtake them or speak over them, and you add where needed but don’t overdo it. Really, really good to watch!

I got curious after this so I started to watch zoey 101 back and you can SEE the dynamic now, how the girls are sitting (with Nicole usually on a chair or away from them), and even the scenes where its just Jamie and Alexa, it's so bizzare the things that go over your head as a kid

It’s so commendable that Alexa still has the energy and will to carry on the way she does despite all she’s gone through. She is so strong for that. Setting a great example for her kids. What an amazing human being.
