Lee will always be my favourite, 20 years ago this was a strong show, ahead of its time, keep bringing him on TBT, dear Tim do an episode with the S/S 2005 collection, the one with the chess theme.
I think that fashion still has the power to provoke but people react to it in such (i.e: think is a lazy gimmick) ways to it that it's really not worth the fight...
1:43 What was that? At first I thought she just stumbled and was pulling her skirt down, but then why did she rub her arm from her hand up to her neck? Was it part of the performance, like a showing of insecurity and vulnerability to go with the whole "rape" thing? Or am I just looking way too closely at someone simply messing up her walk?
I think she was embarrassed and wanted to sort of hug herself/fold into herself and then she remembered the camera and tried to recover herself. The nature of her movements is very delicate and fluid but it was a nervous gesture. McQueen was still a new designer then and apparently there was a lot of press so she may have just been anxious with so many eyes on her.
I always appreciated a runway show with a real story, and one that you could grasp without reading the program was even better. As far as fashion with teeth...I'm not a fan of angry or upsetting stories, so because of this, I don't like that in fashion either.
I am Scottish and I can confirm it was nit the English Army! You need to know your history before you comment on history! It was the British Army and many people who were involved in driving the clearances were Scottish themselves! It's more complicated than a simple ethnic genocide, money and land rights played into it aswell.
