They couldn’t have chosen someone else better than you to showcase and expound on this pedal. Absolute banger Mark. Seems like it could be a fun pedal to pair with a Lore.
I have the Lore .. Magical pedal.. However I only put a very subtle no decay stereo pedal on after it to enhance to stereo and to keep it as true as possible..
@@patrickr6505 I do as well and yes it is. This pedal though could definitely fill that stereo position given the echo and how subtle it could be. The adjutability it has could really help dial in some cool textures too I think.
The broad stokes of both are very similar for sure. The main difference would be a difference in the way they seek to emulate vintage tape machines; the way the delay feeds the read and write heads is different than the timing and spacing on the volant and this gets to a more broken and degraded tape quality than the Volante which, at it's most "worn" doesnt really impart much in the way of imperfection, imo.
@@markjohnstonofficial interesting. One aspect of the Volante I really appreciate are the separate record and playback heads. That opens a lot of possibilities. Still, this looks and sounds like an amazing pedal. Great demo, as usual. Thanks.
Very nice video 👍🏼 Forgive my ignorance, but is it an absolute sin to demo without several expensive pedals beforehand, or are those disengaged after the intro? For better or worse, I’d be curious to hear the pedal ‘raw’ just for a minute, or would it just sound terrible?🫨
1. Plenty of other channel are using it in the context you describe 2. Most people, especially the audience that watches my channel, are going to use their gear in a larger pedalboard context. I am demoing gear the way it’s likely to actually be used in a day to day environment.
