It’s the toxic culture that tell men that we can have what we want and everything is ours for the taking. But it’s not just men who do this I’ve had at least three experiences of unwanted touching and advances.Two with women and one with a guy. One girl would harass me and say sexual things to me she tried grabbing my crotch. It was uncomfortable to say the least, the second was a coworker who would touch me all the time, she began to get angry when I didn’t reciprocate anything back and the third I was on the train headed for one of my classes and I fell asleep only to be woken up by someone touching my leg and their hands moved up to my crotch area it was a white guy who clearly had on a wedding band. I asked him what he was doing? And he just got up and left the train at the next stop. Nyc has many weirdos.

Thank you so much for speaking on this issue, earlier this year I ended a friendship with someone in the industry for this very reason. I looked up to them, they were a mentor, they reminded me why I love fashion......They still have their platform, they still make money, they still are supported by their higher ups who participate in this same behavior. They never did anything to me, but I saw the damage it did to others. You’d be surprised how far up the ladder this goes....not even predators specifically....but people who will co-sign and outright ignore this behavior to keep up appearances and protect their millions. I miss the days of pitchforks and torches, I want his resignation immediately....and I hope it’s only the beginning.
