This is way better after watching John talk about how frustrating this match was due to the behind the scenes circumstances and the fouls called. He was the most fired up he’s ever been.
There will never be anyone in this sport that can match the legendary American John brzenk. Insane how many different weight classes he has ruled over in his life and now at almost 60 the guy is still beating other men half his age.
Voevoda had his government's duties and bobsledding, i don't see anyone ducking... Certainly a shame that the rematch never happened, they should've pulled in 2007 when Voevoda crushed Todd, they were both at that event i think, there's a picture of both sparring on the table... Oh, and look at how puffy and bloated Brzenk looks, certainly on a good cycle, lol...
Maybe they didn't get an agreement, happens all the time, i don't see the link between Voevoda pulling Todd/avoiding Brzenk, was Voevoda supposed to not pull anyone else but John? Plenty of supermatches still haven't happened and probably never will, especially between europeans and americans... Brzenk himself also never said Voevoda ducked him after 2004...
Because it was all Igor. Igor wouldnt want Alexey losing would he? Much better set alexey up with todd than John. Same reason we never saw Pushkar vs Chaffee match all those years. Igor could have made it happen but he didn't.
Tear through prime Denis and Levan? If anything, it'd be a very close and tough match for John, that's for sure. Though I doubt he could beat either of them in their prime.
what a treat that would be..some folks say John wouldn't do well in today's era even though he did great against "modern arm wrestlers" despite being past 40 and never having trained off the table like they did
Lol ... The worst thing in the world for Semerenko in this match was when the Judges Pissed John Off... One thing I've noticed about watching nearly every single Brzenk match, is when John got "Mad" ...or .."Pissed"..during a match 😬 his opponents were Done before it began. He's the nicest guy in the world, but don't let that fool you, Brzenk has some serious FIRE burning within and every once in awhile some poor opponent would feel the wrath of that Fire. Simply the GOAT. Too bad Alexei Dodged John for the remainder of his days, because THIS Brzenk would have crushed him. And he knew it....
Semerenko did himself no favours by saying after the match that he was injured & would come back & beat John at a later date . In 2014 when John was 50 he never forgot semerenko’s arrogance & destroyed him again , foolish thing to do .
This John would beat Voevoda, look at him! Look at the power and control...this was John's strongest year. He was training specifically for Voevoda, but Alexey ran away.

Maybe, he would have a chance and be competitive, but i honestly don't think so, these current super-heavyweights are getting bigger and stronger every year, for not talking about Cyplenkov or Saginashvili...
If this Brzenk showed up to KOTT2 Devon would have been rolled. He should be thankful John is 57 years old with 3million miles on his arm, hand and wrist, and been retired for over 5 years drinking beer.
@@RandomUserName022 he got a point not to mention John was injured a month or two prior against paul linn. This John was ALOT more stronger, explosive and enduring. He would beat most top 8 today.

John is the greatest of all time in AW with the R hand in light through heavy divisions, even managing to gather many wins when in the superheavy class (punching well above his weight)
Voevoda placed first in 2006??? Before he return in 2007 in order to face Michael Todd, Voevoda last match was in january 2005 Vendetta against TRAVIS bangent, being DEMOLISHED 5.0. Left hand though...

Pretty obvious Semerenko was definitely not at full power in this match due to pain/injury. But he did accept the match, still pure domination from Brzenk.
Even so , Semerenko said he would comeback & beat John later , a foolish statement considering the bullshit that went on before this match & how fired up John subsequently got , the next time they faced wasn’t until 2014 , I think ( maybe Semerenko had a massive rethink ) John was over 50 & the result , the same , John easy win .

Imagine John stacking peds & getting up to 130kg , glad he wasn’t that silly & we can still see him in action at near 60 , no disrespect but I don’t think Levan or Ermes will be armwrestling at 60 , which is sad , I like Ermes , he is warrior & a bit of a character to boot .
