Incredible performance by Freitas. He really worked for it, fought hard on every point, made a lot of winners on both sides and had Alexis' phone number on everything by the end of the match. As often Alexis' backhands were make or break, more break than make this time. I just can't believe how hard he hits every backhand counter, and rather flat as well, total craziness.

Alexis had his number till Marcos made one adjustment. Between Alexis power and spin it was difficult for Marcos to keep the ball on the table. Once he took one step back Marcos got to play his game in turn messing up Alexis which pissed him off. Well done mr. Frietas!

Should’ve easily been a yellow card for Lebrun at the end of game 5, if not a red card. Smashing the ball towards the crowd, especially the ballboy/girl in this case, is 100% disrespectful and freitas was asking for the yellow too. Useless refs

Lebrun got dispirited and just ripped the ball without regard at the end. He had no clue what to do. Freitas can play slow, but can suddenly counter-rip one when he knows where Lebrun’s ball is going. Freitas also moves Lebrun around and mistakes creep in. Finally, usually Freitas misses a lot, but this match and the previous one, he was on, he didn’t miss the usual amount.

Shaping up to be Freitas's great tournament, aided by Jorgic playing particularly badly. I thought Lebrun would win this comfortably, but Freitas played some wonderful stuff and showed his usual defensive tenacity. Hope he wins the final.

Lebrun a trop démarré diago revers. De plus il n’a pas très bien servi et aurait pu être plus solide en revers. Il stress encore un peu trop sur certains matchs mais le talent est la. Bon courage Alexis pour la suite

2-1, 7-2 in 4th set....a mini choke by Lebrun there

Invariablement le tournant du match au 4eme set . Alexis mène 2 sets à 1, 7-2 puis 9-7 avec le contrôle du point a ce moment là , et il perd le point et le set juste après . Ça fait partie de l’expérience . Mais je trouve qu’Alexis est moins bien depuis les championnats du monde même s’il a perfé sur Dang Qiu. Je crois que c est la première fois qui perd contre moins bien classé à l’international. Mais il a des axes de travail ( remise de service, revers…)pour passer encore un cap👍🏻

Comment voulez vous que ce « sport » soit médiatique… Est ce que les joueurs de tennis hurlent comme ça à chaque point? À défaut de se dépenser vraiment on dirait que le seul moyen de se libérer un peu c’est d’intimider l’adversaire. Triste activité
