I feel Alexis on the No Sabo part. I’m trying to learn but it is so intimidating for me! I can understand most things and I know they say you have to speak it more to get the hang of it but like she said I literally start shaking. Then as soon as someone laughs when I try to speak it, my brain shuts down and forgets everything I know🙃🙃🙃
hearing her story about college made me so sad!! i’ve had an experience with a bad coach and anyone who plays sports and loves the game having a bad coach ruins and sucks the passion out of you it’s so sad! I wonder if she ever complained to the head of athletics or anything cause that’s not ok.
I dislike the term "no sabo" some of our parents were born in the U.S and did not come from Mexico. Our grandparents or great grandparents came from Mexico to pave the way for us, but we grew up speaking English because that's the language in the U.S. I don't criticize Mexican people or any hispanic that doesn't know English. So it hurts when other girls who speak perfect Spanish made fun of me for not being perfect at Spanish, but I didn't make fun of them for not knowing English. I always grew up being afraid of being criticized by my own people for not being a pro at Spanish , but I have always tried and I am still learning and I know how to speak it here and there. At this point it doesn't bother me. I just know I'll never criticize my hispanic people who don't know English, instead I will try and speak to them in Spanish and not say a rude comment like some of them do us Mexican American people. It be your own people who bring you down the most. Let's come together and know that we all come from different walks of life. Let's help one another learn Spanish and English. Viva Mexico Para Siempre ! & God Bless America!
If you study Chicano studies or ethnic studies they go into depth and how we were forced to immigrate and conform to American culture in order to survive as a result we push these beliefs onto our children and others it’s sad. You cannot speak Spanish and still be Latino

I think its so important to bring light to what living in Mexico is really like. Being born and raised from a US border town to Mexico, it is so common to hear people that didn’t grow up near Mexico have misconceptions about the dangers of going across and completely disregard the beauty of the culture and its people. I truly appreciate Alexis for doing what she did and having an open minded conception about moving to Mexico, and it’s so nice to hear someone I look up to in the media speak on the reality of it!
