Sunday afternoon grand entry of Midnight Express and Blackstone Singers at the Alexis Nakota sioux Nation Pow wow 2014. Video edit dedicated to Heston Letendre, fan of Both drum groups that came visit the Local Pow wow celebration.
This song found me when I was abusing myself and everyone everything around me. I listen to it still today to give the ghost a good scare. It’s given me hope and strength to hold onto my prayers, powwow medicine is simply not to be trifled with.
I was first introduced to drumming by my son at the St Joseph's Pow Wow. There is something ancient and hypnotic about the drumming and singing. I have been hooked ever since.
Awe inspiring for real. I just drove through Dakota's and Montana from Washington state. Heard some Native rumbling on local radio and listened in for the drive. Truly blessed and inspired by it still. Powerful. Listening to it loud now. Helps me to gather myself. To gather strength.
Native American drumming and chanting makes my heart pound 1000 times faster. Not to mention it has made me tremble before (not in a bad way...more like awed trembling, if that makes sense). Much respect to the People of the First Nations.
anyone born on the American continent is a "native american" ...these peoples... The American First Nations. they are the true heart of the land. the land that was taken, subversed, diseased, and burned by wars all in the name of a few saying they "own" the land... nobody owns this land. these culturally inspiring, spiritually sound, and incredible people have been violently chased out and starved out. I was given a sacred naming ceremony by the last White Mountain Apache Moonwalker. an her students. Words are not good enough to explain they're incredible knowledge and relations with all. Im glad your still here. I will always cherish what your cultures have given me. I Thank You with All of my Heart. Namaste - Ad Infinitum
It Is Very Important To Keep The Native American Tradition Alive., So Our Children, And Grandchildren, And Great Grandchildren Can Learn Where They Came From. And They Can Pass On The Tradition.,
Im not native either but i grew up in a area filled with natives, not saying that it was bad, some here are super nice and they would do anything to make you feel like you are at your own home. Some on the other hand can be rude but once you get to know them they turn out really nice. Half of my friends are native i love them.
Stay on your little broke reserve we threw you in, maybe clean up the stolen burnt cars, refrigerators, and drunken shneeps. One day the free ride will end.
@@kilroywashere6084 And what do you contribute to society exactly? Also the whole, some are rude, others are nice can be applied to the human race, not just native peoples.
Ahhh, I miss going to Pow wow and sweats at Alexis First Nation. Best bannoc burgers in the west in my opinion :) Also some of the best sandstone artists out there too.
esse vídeo é ótimo, a música é incrível!! o som dos tambores e os cantos são realmente energizantes, expulsam seja lá o que estagna o espírito. bom demais!!!

TheNoNameNative Assiniboine were traditional enemies of the Sioux. The Assiniboine Nakota were allies of the Cree and Ojibway. Sioux is a French word for the Dakota/Lakota in the United States. So i assume the Alexis Nakota Sioux are not Treaty Indians since the Sioux in Canada didn't sign Treaties with the Crown because they came from the United States?
Assiniboine is nakota. Which is part of the Oceti Sakowin. But Idk about their treaty status. Why does it matter?? And "Sioux" didn't just come from the US. Ask the elders
+Donald Standing Elk ~ thank you for the invite~ would love to attend. I think we are all people - God comes in many forms and speaks many languages- but the message is the same.
+Donald Standing Elk This is beautiful What's the name of this song? What are they singing about? I'm from Texas but currently in North Dakota I would love to see this in person
Whenever I need to reset or get some spiritual healing, I always come back and listen to these songs. It really helps, especially when I’ve messed up and need to forgive myself and move on. Or I come and listen when I’m just really happy and loving my people! 🥲 11:20
