andy fitzpatrick It wasnt JUST city and colour. it was a combination of doing both both of them at the same time. IN the end he enjoyed doing city and colour more and he made his choice.
I also think it was a growing older thing. A lot of people in hardcore or metal bands grow out of it. I know as I grew up I started opening my horizons with music.
Have you guys watched their onlyboxever little documentary? It wasn't just dallas being unhappy. They were all getting excruciatingly tired from the amount of touring they were doing, and they didn't like the bands they were touring with because they weren't the kind of music they liked. The post-hardcore they started as grew away from what post-hardcore was becoming. Touring with bands like sleeping with sirens wasn't really their cup of tea and they saw that they were growing older, hence the sound change. No one was unhappy exactly, they were all just getting really tired from a lot of touring and felt that their time had finally come with one last record, that being Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Everyone makes Dallas out to be the bad guy even though he didn't do anything to hurt or ruin the band.
