Good luck next season guys, I’m a Birmingham fan. I am not expecting to be winning the league by Christmas certainly. Agree that with the team we are building should be up there but the turmoil of the last 12 years will take another year to sort I feel. But a top 6 finish and I’ll be happy.

He played his heart out last season in a mediocre team and his passion on the pitch was infectious. I have watched the farewell message on the club's website, and it sounds as if his Mrs has put the pressure on. He's done the right thing by us, and we've made some money. If he had stayed, with the family moving away, the off-field stuff could well have affected his performances. Not sure about selling to a direct rival for this season but if he wanted to leave you can only sell to parties that are interested at the right price. Shame really. I'm sure he'll score against us, ex-Addicks always seem to, and hope the fans give him a warm welcome back at the Valley when we play Brum. Since his outgoing we have made a couple of good signings up front and we have Miles on the way back. I think overall we are stronger.

Hi .. I'm a more level headed Birmingham Fan and Yes We should be in the Shake Up for Promotion BUT I don't think it'll be a walk in the Park .. Yes it's nice to be thought of as bookies favourites to go straight back Up but again some of our players will be kicked up and down the country season long and it's wether they can hack it .. Another Blues fan here. After the last decade of misery I’m taking nothing for granted. I’m sure we’ll be competitive but I’m not expecting us to walk the division. There’s some very decent sides in this league.

I do agree some bcfc fans think we only have to turn up at games to win asnt the last few years taught us anything sides like charlton Bolton Peterbrough are seasoned campaigns in league 1 we have only signed league 1 players not the championship players we were hoping to sign but that's because they don't want to drop a league . No bcfc are not a sure in for promotion

Very exciting for Birmingham. Sure Charlton cashed in nicely given his accolades of top goalscorer and player of the season and so on. It is of course business - good for Blues, good for Alfie and good for Charlton.

As a Birmingham fan I feel your pain. It's never nice to lose your top players. I hope Godden fills the gap and we both get promoted. We've been run like shit for the last decade and just when we finally get decent owners a piece of stupidity gets us relegated. It is a complete rebuild for us so to all those talking easy promotion probably need to be less bullish. I'm just looking forward to seeing us win more games and visiting some grounds I haven't been to.

Tyler, agree with most of what you say. The incomings so far have been very good, of course losing AM is a big blow. But NJ is re-building the squad for next season. May sees his future with Birmingham, which is fair enough. I am sure Charlton will be a better squad this season than last. I trust in NJ to get the squad competitive and challenge for promotion. In football you always look forward, don’t look back. We’ll be fine without Alfie.

He left because we paid him far more money it’s as simple as that, and we needed a proven goal scorer in this league. Charlton are a proper club like ours and we are very lucky to be able to fund all these exciting signings. Best of luck guys hope you are up at the right end of the leauge with us.

Things could go anywhere from tits up, cos this is Birmingham City and tits up is what we do best, to a more realistic tough scrap. Also, it's not a good thing to say it will all be over by Christmas, because it never is as the campaign grinds on into year after bloody year of bitter fighting! lol FWIW It's a 1 hr 48min drive from Brum to Doncaster and 3 hr 13 min from the smoke. I think he needs to hit the ground running as some Blues fans are a bit underwhelmed by the signing. Also heard (rumour) he's had £500,000 relocation expenses!!! Ignore all the wums who think we will win this league by just turning up. Most Blues fans are more pragmatic & understand that this league can be brutal. More importantly the management team know this. Having said that, given the investment, I will be very surprised if we don't finish top 6.

Pompey fan here , not sure all the facts are out there , I've not seen any comments from Jones about this move , where u look where he has played most of his football the northern thing is a bit odd ? Surely he goes to Huddersfield ? Adhami had a spell at pompey under the Cowleys , he hardly played and looked a bit light weight , but that was 2/3:seasons back , but if may is £775k he is nowhere near a million that looks alot of cash for him , good luck in league 1 cos it looks hugely competitive this season , I think we ( pompey ) have a better chance of stating in the championship than competing with that lot in league one , gonna b an interesting watch for sure 👍

Yes a big hole to fill. To be fair he was the only one going to score next season as well. The best we can hope for is that more players can be chipping in next year.
